Who cares if you hate him. He balled in the playoffs. Great two way player that can run. Yes, his offense has gotten solid to be able to say he's a 2 way player. Can guard positions one to three legitimately. But of course, it depends on the cash.

Without him there's no way in heck they get that far, yet alone past the flippers.

is he referring to the fact that pau's name would always come in trade rumours from about 2012 until he left? or that the last two idiot coaches he played under in LA were idiots?

the lakers organization always treated pau with class and he returned the favour. but does marc not realize that dan tony is long gone? or that pau's name coming up in trade talks is simply part of the business?

or maybe he's still bitter over the fact that we traded him for his brother and ended up winning back to back titles

Not a two way player at all. He is set up by others. Pretty good defender and a streaky shooter. I think McDaniels is both cheaper and younger and provides a similar impact.

I'd take McDaniels waaaaayyyy before Corey Brewer. He had a good series against the Clippers. Before that (and I mean his entire career) he was pretty worthless.

I still get the feeling that if we sign Aldridge, it's to play center. I know he doesn't really want that, but in this NBA, who is he really going to struggle with? DeAndre Jordan? Maybe Marc Gasol?

Lakers have some work to do with DJ if they even want to have a chance signing him here. His top two choices are Clips/Mavs and then everyone else.

Can't link the report right now, but talks of Sign and Trade with Chandler to LAC is a possibility that is gaining steam if LAC lose out on him.

there's a reason corey brewer is celebrated, then unceremoniously dumped months later by every team with which he signs. he's a 9th guy masquerading as a 5th starter. I wouldn't bother with him; as others have said, there are younger, cheaper versions. like a will barton, for example.

I actually think Chander would be a great pickup for us. Be nice to have another solid vet, and one who could anchor the defense.

I'm starting to like the idea that if we strike out on LMA that we try to sign both Carrol and Robin Lopez. That would be a great off-season and guys who can truly help us with an "all-around" game.

    Carrol $13-15 million/year
    Robin $5-6 million/year

I wanted to look at some numbers - how teams did with a potential FA Big (Aldridge, Chandler, Jordan, Monroe) on vs. off, how that player did vs. his opponent, and how the player's team did vs. that positional opponent. Essentially, I want to see what impact the players's outperforming his counterpart has on the team's performance. Here's the short bit:

Team On/Off (points scored per 100 possession)
    Aldridge +5.4
    Chandler +3.7
    Jordan +11.8
    Monroe +2.4

Vs. Opponent (Points Produced - points + assists *2.2) (per 48 minutes)
    Aldridge +10.9
    Chandler -2.49
    Jordan -8.35
    Monroe +6.16

Teammate (How the player's team did at that position - Center for all except Aldridge - vs. their opponents) (per 48 minutes)
    Aldridge's +5.43
    Chandler -2.70
    Jordan -5.96
    Monroe -1.44

Player vs. Teammate (That first number minus the second number - by how much did this player outplay his counterpart compared with how his team played vs. the counterpart at the same position)
    Aldridge +5.48
    Chandler -0.21
    Jordan -2.39
    Monroe +7.6

BALL DOMIMANCE (essentially, how much of the difference when this guy was on the court was the direct result of his outplaying his opponent; it means that if he doesn't get the touches, how significantly is his impact decreased).
    Aldridge 5.48/5.4 = 50.5
    Chandler -2.70/3.7 = 5.4
    Jordan -2.39/11.8 = 17.3
    Monroe 7.6/2.4 = 76.0

    Bottom Line (I think):
Monroe needs to outplay his opponent to play his style of ball; Aldridge, too. Chandler and Jordan really don't play that way at all. If you're looking to spread touches between all our weapons, go Jordan or Chandler

Not sure if Robin would sign that cheap again, but if so, sure. I like Ed Davis for that price, too. I could roll with Harris at SF too if Carroll signs elsewhere. But I like what you're thinking Battle Tested. That's where my head's at as well. Continue to go with the high paid youngish SF at max and then go with a serviceable Center, if we strike out on LMA and Jordan.

I just don't like the idea of maxing out guys like Love or Monroe who I don't think are good fits.

While I appreciate Jordan's game defensively I just don't think he's worth the cap space. We saw what happened with Bogut in the finals, we saw Jordan neutered in the playoffs, If you are going to put a guy out there that allows other teams to cheat on D off of him, or foul him intentionally, he doesn't deserve more than 10 mil.

I'd rather have McDaniels too. The thought of a 2nd unit of Swaggy hitting threes, with KJ McDaniels and Robert Upshaw swatting shots and McDaniels and Nance, Jr. filling the lanes on the break intrigues me.:inlove: Talk about excitement in Staples...
