this team is not a contender and adding Brick with bron/ad isnt a positive either

I’m a total no go with the Indiana trade at 2 FRP. I also got zero sympathy for LeBron wasting his final years on a non championship team. He knew the score when he signed that 50 million a year contract. If he wanted to chase championships he needed to take a huge pay cut or not want terrible players like Russ.

I have a little bit more sympathy for AD but until he can stay on the court as a Laker, I’m not sweating it for him.

Indiana deal does not make us final contenders and I’m not mortgaging our future for Bron’s whims and wishes.

He had a better defensive rating than Buddy Hield over the last two seasons. He shot a respectable 36% from 3 in 21 and he's about 15 years younger than Ariza.

my point is that whatever deal it is probably doesn't exist in anyone's mind right now.

i think you're too focused on us. russ's performance matters not at all, imo. anyone moving for him will be for his expiring. maybe we get a good young player like when we moved russell for lopez's expiring and a 1st. we may have to eat a mozgov, but might not have to give up a pick. you just never know.

the laker tax exists because of the latter, imo. and it won't be an AD-level player if it happens.

but if we move for turner/hield, we'd have no shot at an AD type trade for the next several years.

it's likely this is the team, but i'll take my chances over mortgaging several years past the lebron/AD era.

lol, exactly. lebron could have taken a paycut, and AD didn't have to sign on long-term. they made their beds, and they can request out if they wish.

I guess the games will tell who's closer to being right on this subject.

Because Hield is a popular idea for coughing up a 1st rd pick and taking on 50 million in salary.

i guess but using hield as a barometer to justify walkers def isnt really saying much and walker shot 36% from 3s on low volume, a % he never replicated

A few folks seem to want Hield tho.. Walker shot 36% in the previous season too, and he still has 15 years on Ariza to boot. I can't say that a 23 year old kid has maxed out in any area just yet.

it's weird how much we talk about walker. as of right now, i don't think he's in the rotation. if someone goes down, he's an interesting replacement, but the guard rotation looks to be russ/schroder and nunn/bev, with reaves probably getting some time, too.

And if they don't, I guess you will excuse it by the other teams just haven't settled in yet.

    Wait a second…
He got “dealt a bad hand in Russ???”
    No he didn’t.
He CHOSE that hand. He was the GM in charge who okayed that deal.

Not sure Schroder deserves to start over Nunn at the moment. We snatched Walker up too quickly, not to give him a shot at playing IMO. Honestly I think Bev is the one that will get traded. I wouldn't count him out just yet.

The kid is 23 years old man, he doesn't have a long career to reflect on. 4 attempts per game is plenty for him.
