Yeah, he's been bad the last 3 seasons, but he's worth a look at the very least.

Harkless isn't old and he's not small either. But he can't really shoot... he jumps high, can dunk and block some shots, has some post moves. But is this the type of player we really need?

Tall who can do a little defensively? Yes, that is the type of player we need. I want a player who can walk on to every ride at Disney without getting measured to see if they make the height requirements.

Yeah I feel like I’ve heard Harkless’ name for so long that I assumed he was getting up there in age. So when I heard people point out that David Nwaba may be another buy out option after this trade, my first instinct was to prefer Nwaba because I figured he’s a younger player of the same mold (defensive wing with limited offense/shooting).

But actually, Harkless is younger than Nwaba!

And to answer your question, I do think we can use someone like him. Ideally we need a “3&D” wing, but there aren’t any available. So we may have to settle for just a “D” wing. We simply don’t have many players with the size to adequately put up a fight on defense against wings.

I wouldn’t imagine Harkless as a regular part of our rotation, but if for example JTA or Brown got hurt we would potentially need someone like him for emergency SF depth. In an ideal scenario you get him on a non-guaranteed deal. If not, you hope that Jeanie would be fine eating the cost if we end up having to cut him to sign a better buyout option down the line.

Of course, this would be a moot point if we had just kept Stanley…

if we initially didn't want to move THT for bev, why did we have to add stan?

but yeah, i don't buy the idea that plan A is hoarding less than max cap space.

Harkless is too tall and isn’t a guard so Rob ain’t interested.

    Stein on Crowder

Bojan wanted an extension too and that softened his market

stein's always got the goods, imo. good context on both situations--one i assumed (crowder) and one i didn't (didn't think bogdanovic was angling for an extension, but it makes sense, of course).

Per Lowe, if we'll do both 1sts as unprotected then the Pacers would likely take the Russ deal right now

I think the first 13 games will be interesting. If we only win 4 of those (Jazz 2x, Blazers, Kings) or something brutal like that, is Rob ready to pull that trigger?

F the Pacers. Last month, last week, today or 3 months from now. Buddy Hield and Myles Turner aren't worth two FRP period.

Damn right Indiana would do that deal. They would be fleecing the Lakers.

I doubt we trade Russ. Gonna have to just get through the season and hope Ham can make it work.

I do think teams will regret not taking a reasonable deal involving one pick.
