Probably felt called to retire again.

Based on a quick 60 second Google read of each, I like the physical profile of Bacon and Oni. They both have the tools to do some things defensively.

That said, if we're looking for a FA bargain wing I would rather bring in Justin Anderson, Louis King, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, or Robert Woodard II. They all are better defensively or at least project that way.

If we wanted a cheap, young, defensive wing, we HAD one and we tossed him in for Beverly. This team is run by morons. I also cannot believe we brought in IT again, as if we haven’t personally seen enough of him already to know what he can do and as if we need a 5’10 guard.

In the past several years, I can’t recall us ever actually signing one of these castaway players that we bring in for these group workouts… still won’t stop fans from freaking out every time they’re reported.

For the umpteenth time, it’s due diligence, favors to agents, yada yada yada

I know a lot of y’all know this and are joking/commenting in a tongue in cheek way, and maybe this is more directed at stuff I’ve read on Reddit/Twitter than here, but at a certain point all the manufactured negativity can get a little tiring. Airing out valid criticisms is one thing, but making mountains out of every mole hill is unnecessary IMO.

Everyone. Relax. It's a precursor. It's just a precursor. Precursor.

justin anderson's still hanging around? though he does seem like the kind of guy that could boomerang back to the league with some seasoning. his hoop iq was just sub-zero in his first run.

This. Let’s be real, Westbrook, Nunn, Beverly, and Schroder are all under 6’3”. Someone is getting sent out because there’s no way we play all these small guards because we would get murdered on defense.

The front office signed Schroder because he showed out in Eurobasket, to lock him up because he was getting interest from another team. They wanted him as a replacement for probably both Westbrook and Nunn

as much as i'd like to believe we have a wing incoming, it's possible that schroder just represented a big talent-to-salary ratio that will allow us flexibilty should things come up.

also, i'm not sure having three small guards (westbrook isn't small and doesn't play small) is that big of an issue, tbh. especially if we're going to play big everywhere else most of the time.

in the playoffs, the clippers will hunt out your small guards, but not many other teams will have success doing that (luka will, maybe a couple others).

again, i'd prefer having another big wing (and not tossing stan), but i think it's possible the FO thinks this is a viable roster as is.

I like the name bacon. I think that guy has sizzling potential. Or he’s a porker, one or the other.

Not sure how realistic this is, since Lakers have to take on significantly more salary. But, Lakers likely have to decide between keeping the 2029 pick and saving money. I imagine they would choose the keep the pick option.

Lakers get: Conley. Bojan, and Beasley

Jazz get: Westbrook, 2027 unprotected 1st round pick, 2025 2nd round pick and 2029 2nd round pick

    New Lakers roster:

    PG: Conley/Schroeder/Nunn
    SG: Beverly/Beasley/Walker/Christie
    SF: James/Reeves/Brown
    PF: Davis/Bojan/JTA/Swider*
    C: Bryant/Jones/Huff*

    *Two-way

    Cut Pippen and keep Huff

I feel like we aren’t going to take Conley on although I like him. He’s never been in any real talk with us other than our own speculation. I think it’s Clarkson if we are taking on a two year contract, which I’m fine with.

    Via The Athletic:

“In recent conversations with the Jazz, the Lakers have targeted Bogdanović, Jordan Clarkson and Malik Beasley, according to league sources,” wrote Jovan Buha and Sam Amick.

Yeah I'd imagine with the Schroder signing and the 20xx salary cap plan those are the guys we are targeting.

Yeah i am sure that the Lakers prefer JC for the following reasons:

    1. Owed only 28 million for the next two seasons, as opposed to Conley's 38-46 million.

    2. JC's contract is easier to move because he is younger and cheaper

    3. JC is 6-5, compared to the 6-1 Conley. This allows him to play more shooting guard.

But we might have to give up the two picks for this trade. Probably not though.

Schroeder and Clarkson would be interesting off of the bench together. Only one ball.

True but a better problem to have than what we have with little legitimate depth.

When did Westbrook become small? Must have missed that memo.

When he lost the ability to touch the rim. He's trending towards Drummond level of athleticism.

Lebron, AD and our centers will counter the problems we incur with the Clips Kawhi and George. Zubac and Batum will get eaten alive by our starters. We just need to keep those guys from going off from 3 on us, if that means switching off to bigs on them, so be it. In the playoffs, LBJ can take one out and AD the other, PatBev on Wall, more concerned about our bench vs theirs unless we run Westbrook off the bench.
