This team is constructed like a fantasy football team where the 1st pick of the draft was a QB.

His defense for our national team has been really good, but the shooting is still very questionable.

I actually appreciate an owner who doesn't make decisions based on what fans want

With this roster, it's making sense a move with Spurs for Richardson and McDermott in exchange for Russ and Nunn + something for Reddish. It would get us the wings and we would have guard depth

We were 21-6 with Schroder as a starter before AD got hurt.

    Schroder
    Reaves
    Lebron
    AD
    Jones/Bryant

    can win games.

Schroeder need the ball to do anything. With Bron, i rather have a good shooting PG/SF.

He's an on ball player but It's by far the lesser extreme to Westbrook. We'll all already seen with our own two eyes that they can with games. Plus with only the vet min, beggars can't be choosers.

I can't read the Athletic article and I don't believe we would pull it off but that would be a great move.

    Closing lineup with:
    Pat
    Rozier
    Bogdanovic
    LeBron
    AD

With Reaves, Schroder, JTA, Jones, Bryant and Lonnie/Troy coming from the bench. That team would make noise

I think Nunn is dead based on getting Pat and Dennis

No, which is why Rob is pursuing it.

Now, that would of been something worth trading both picks for.

Here's the relevant portion of that article. In short, that was a discussion before the Mitchell trade. I guess it could be revisited as a 3 team in some iteration.

    Any trade is unlikely.

disagree. rozier's got a big salary for four more years. that's a zero picks go out type trade for me.

Rob’s continued obsession with building a small guard heavy team is evidence that he needs to go.

Good for you. I actually believe in the intelligence of the die hard long time Laker fan. I’ve seen many owners of Franchises do absolutely nothing with their riches for decades and others take over winning clubs only to destroy them over the years.
Being an owner doesn’t equate to team building intelligence. Have you ever heard of the New York Knicks or the San Diego/LA Clippers before Ballmer took over???

Everyone mentioned the super obvious, we have too many small point guards now.

I am not exactly sure what the front office plan is with having cap space for next summer, I suspect it’s to go after Kyrie but I don’t know what plan B would be if we don’t get him. Considering how the front office seems pretty bad at planning to begin with (Letting Caruso walk, then fixing that mistake by trading THt/Johnson for a older Bev, only to sign Schroeder a few weeks later…)

I think a decent plan actually would be to punt on next years cap space. Do a 3 team trade with Charlotte/Indiana:

Lakers get Gordon Hayward, Myles Turner
    Charlotte gets Westbrook
Indiana gets Kelly Oubre + 1 Lakers first round pick

It was reported that Charlotte was offering their first round pick just to get out of Hayward’s contract during this years draft. They are able to get off his contract in this case.

Indiana gets a first round pick plus a young wing for their rebuild.

The lakers get rid of Westbrook, get an actual wing that actually would fit nicely beside AD/Lebron in Hayward. Hayward is better than Bogdonavic because he can actually be a playmaker, and is still capable of hitting 3s, and is a better defender than Bogdanovic. We would also get Turner to put beside AD.

Lakers depth would be pretty decent:

    Beverly/Schroeder/Nunn
    Hayward/Reaves/Walker
    Lebron/Jones
    AD/Gabriel
    Turner/Bryant/Joned

    I like it much better than a Bogdanovic/Clarkson trade…
