    Huge departure.

sounds like what you would say if you expect to start the year with Russ on the team.

Wow. It's weird. Suddenly I have 3 hours of time that has been freed up on 82 days this year. I wonder what constructive things I can get done?

The writing is pretty much on the wall that another deal will be done shortly. Either the Indiana deal, or the Lakers could be holding off until September 6th, which is when the trade restrictions come off of some of the Utah players. At that time, Lakers could execute a WB/2027 1st for Bojan/Beasley/Gay trade. I could see th Indiana trade going down any day now though. One note about the Indiana deal. We kind of get an embarrassment of riches, in terms of rim protection. Though still important, rim protection is not as vital as it use to be. I could still see AD being flipped for a wing such as Zach LaVine in the future. Turner would essentially replace AD.

Man FOH with that AD for Lavine BS. Myles Turner has more injury issues than AD, and Lavine isn't exactly "durable ".

This assumes we won't even make the play in game.

Trade RW & the 2 frp for hield & turner. Sign Dennis The Menace, he & PatBev will hold down the PG.

This is all sound and correct, but it still goes along with the fact that our Franchise has been the absolute worst in managing its young talent since LeBron has come here. Is it all his fault? No, but he does have a track record of shipping out the majority of young talent wherever he goes. That being said, the buck stops with Rob. Let’s see what he comes up with to finish off this roster, but unless he pulls off something amazing, I would be happy if he were replaced as soon as possible.

We weren't doing a great job of managing young talent before Lebron got here either.

I was curious why the deal wasn’t finalized until today. It’s not like there was a deadline where Beverly just now became trade eligible, and it’s not like there was haggling over additional pieces.

Interesting explanation for the timing, but if that was your objective maybe don’t leak the news such that Woj is breaking details about the trade at 8:24 on 8/24 anyways…

That’s a really interesting and weird “coincidence” that woj broke this news at 8:24 on 8/24 Kobe Bryant day.

I wonder if Kobe is working from up above trying to help his buddy Pelinka and the Lakers from above with a bigger plan to save the Lakers and these are all signs…

Kobe Bryant Day is basically the most religious and biggest holy day in my household. Divine intervention!

You can do whatever you want, doesn't mean it's consistent. It can be argued AC is the best player, what doesn't make sense is going from 8 to 80 with complaining about AC being dumped because of his fit in this roster/LeBron and then be against Pat on this same team. Those 2 don't add up, it's purely emotional and irrational

Are they really going to “try to make this work” with Russ?

They can try to say the right things now, but I think Russ and Bev legit hate each other. It’s not going to work and it will hurt chemistry in the locker room.

Waiting until the trade deadline to hope other packages emerge or see if the Nets situation changes again, is just not going to be viable anymore IMO. Russ needs to be shipped out ASAP

Yeah...I'll believe it when I see it. I still don't think we ever planned on trading Westbrook until this Kyrie thing popped up.
