I think we go the Turner/Hield trade now. And I’m just not a big fan of Hield and thought monk gave you the exact same outcome for a lot less.

So it comes down to, is Turner worth the two first rounds and a large expiring. He sures up our defence. But it’s a massive over pay.

    Bev/Reaves
    Nunn/Hield
    Lebron/Brown Jr
    AD/JTA
    Turner/Bryant or Jones

    Good stuff.

Those corner percentages looking good, too.

for a team that really, really lacks in the wing defense department, losing stanley is not the right move

Yeah Indy would be the way to go now.

    Utah/Knicks
Some combination of Conley, Bojan, JC, Reddish, Fournier won’t move the needle as much as Hield/Turner.

The two frps is still overpay but we’re at that point now where we have to trade them, please Rob put protections on them.

I’d probably pick up Schroeder too, Bev and Nunn aren’t exactly picture of perfect health.

    Bev/Nunn/Schroeder
    Hield/Reaves/Walker
    Lebron/Troy Brown/Christie
    AD/JTA/Wenyen
    Turner/TBryant/Jones

Still so thin on the wing but at least the big men rotation is good.

The fit is really really good with these guys. I was a Monk fan but IMO he's a streak shooter and Hield has better size and he really is a an all time shooter. Both are bad at D but Hield is a true SG who you don't have to be as gimmicky on D. Monk really is a 6th man.

I love Turner with AD as well. Shooting plus an elite defender with Beverly will be great. Just need a KCP type to add the wing defense

Even if the Indy trade goes down, this team is still not a top five team in the West.
I bet Rob is desperate enough to save his job that he will end up giving Indy Reaves as well, if pushed hard enough.

I think it’s easy to talk oneself into anything. Buddy Hield is a good shooter but he isn’t an all time great shooter - not like the Curry’s or Joe Harris. The problem is, he is a terrible defender. I’m really not sure how much more (if at all) he gives you over a Monk.

But I do like Turner quite a bit. The issue is it probably takes two firsts to get it done and we don’t have any assets left to go out and get a wing defender, unless it’s from a buyout.

It’s now a real weakness and how teams will attack us. We don’t have anyone to cover a decent wing.

This is gold. Pat is a great addition to our roster. I don't understand why people focus on the 'barking and other stuff'

Ultimately feels like another yet another case of poor asset management from the front office along with a continued inability to manage young talent.

it’s why I have no faith in our ability to blow things up and start over. We have sold low on numerous young guys.

As for Bev, we will see. I need to know who else we are going to end up with before fully judging. He can help despite my thoughts on him.

    My reaction:

Never trade with Danny Ainge. Never.

We will eventually regret trading THT.

On the positive side, Bev should give this team some toughness. We were flat out soft last year and folded anytime we got hit by the other team.

feel like we're seeing the end of rob here. you've had months to work the phones, and you give up two young guys with potential for a 34-year old small sg. you make the trade with the only team that could absorb a big chunk of russ's contract, and russ isn't involved. the returning player was likely to get traded again and bought out in the near future.

people trying to sell this as cap space: nope. lebron's extension ended cap space. we won't have a max slot under any circumstances. and there's really no one but kyrie to chase with it, if even him. plus, if this is a precursor to a russ deal, we're definitely not going to have space anyway.

further, as others have said, it's just more evidence that we have no patience with young players and put too much stock in things that happened before and not enough in what might happen later. there's a great chance that beverly falls off a cliff this year. he's been on borrowed time for a few years already. and we JUST SAW russ do this exact thing, with us holding the hot potato. why are we always holding the cartoon grenade when it explodes?

we're now paying poor man's caruso 13 million next year when we wouldn't pay caruso 8 million. great work.

lol, on the bright side, he may single-handedly beat the clippers for us, which will spare me a few weeks of whining around here.

This is also why I was eventually okay with going all in on Kyrie. I always felt like we were going to give up our assets at some point so going after the best possible rumored player made sense. We’re likely going to now empty the cupboard for some mediocre guys.

It could work out but I don’t see how anyone could say we’ve managed assets or young talent well.
