I’m fine with trading THT for Beverly to be clear, we needed a PG and he is a solid one, a vet we lack. I’m not fine just tossing in Stan. He’s not amazing, but he’s a spark off the bench player, a momentum shifter, he's another Caruso type we just threw away. I do not understand Rob’s mentality sometimes, he loses EVERY, SINGLE, DEAL he makes.

I don't have a problem with bringing pat in, it's giving up on THT that pisses me off. I don't believe for a second that beverley is all he's worth

This trade sucks. I hate Pat Bev and I’m tired of just giving away young players.

Nobody in their right mind is giving up picks for Pat Bev, that’s just dumb Jazz talking.

We have to look at this f*** who literally looks like he slept in one of those green mulch and grass clipping bins the city gives you. That's what we got. Trash bin Beverley representing the Lakers.

Seems to me it would’ve made far more sense to add Gabriel instead of Stan since we’ll already have a logjam at center if we add Turner.

Dude, I wouldn't trade two dog s***s and a bowl of piss for Russell Westbrook. You think NBA GMs will? Without trying to fleece every conceivable asset that matters? It's over.

Starting f***ing lineup will be Westbrook, f*** face, lebron, AD and Damian Jones.

It's because we aren't getting Turner. I don't get how bringing in that clown means the Lakers are trading for Turner and Hield. Why would you need Beverley you are gonna get Hield who plays the 2?

The bevelery trade was to clear space for next year. Got nothing to do with moves that are coming next. Lakers cleared salary beyond 2023 with THT being sent out. Stanley was just a filler to make the money work. That's it.

Utah made the trade because they don't need Beverley and they take a chance on a 21 year old.

That's it. That's all this was for both teams.

I’m talking about second round picks.

I definitely think the Jazz could have eventually traded Pat Bev elsewhere for a second round pick (or two). And I can understand why fans of a rebuilding Jazz team would rather have a package that included second rounders over THT, given how disappointing he was this past season and his contract situation.

THT definitely did NOT have significantly more value than this. I don’t know where that idea was coming from. We were looking at trading him for Terrence Ross type players the past trade deadline, and he didn’t really improve much since then; plus now his contract situation is even less desirable.

I get why some fans would have an emotional attachment to THT. He’s been one of our only young players the past few seasons and he’s shown glimmers of potential. But put yourself in the shoes of another team’s fanbase or GM: he just hasn’t shown to be a rotation level NBA player yet. We can make all the excuses about fit and role, but other teams aren’t going to give him that benefit of the doubt.

I have no attachment to THT. But I do have for Stan Johnson. That’s what adds salt in the wound. That and having to watch BevMo on our team. Horrible.

I think THT had more value then Pat Bev. He’s 21 freaking years old. So you and I will just have to agree to disagree there. When THT catches fires against us and Bev gets kicked out with 2 techs it will just be icing on the cake of this s***ty trade.

I was thinking the same, but for some reason THT and Wenyen for Beverly wasn’t working in the ESPN trade machine. I’m not sure if his non-guaranteed salary doesn’t count towards outgoing trade matching or something?

Depending on the return on a possible Russ trade though, it’s possible we may have wanted to open multiple roster spots. So doing the Utah trade as a 2 for 1, and then still having Wenyen’s non guaranteed deal to cut, may have been the objective.

A dream scenario I have would be a Russ trade for Hield/Turner, but somehow gets rolled into a multi-team deal that also brings in Cam Reddish. I think something like that would explain giving up Stanley, because he wouldn’t really have a spot in the rotation anyways.

    Beverly / Nunn
    Hield / Reaves / Walker
    Lebron / Reddish / Brown
    AD / JTA
    Turner / Bryant / Jones

I could get behind that, ESPECIALLY if Mr. Rambis latest post about us trying hard to make the Indiana trade with only one FRP ends up happening

I brought up Pat Bev awhile ago and I’m perfectly fine with trading THT for him but why tf did we throw in Stan for… now we still NEED to add size on the wing.

At least this probably means we’re making a Russ trade right? And if its truly about capspace plan then won’t be Indy and Hields contract
