What Upshaw needs is a lobotomy just like what the Clips might have done to DeAndre:giggle:

If you want someone to mentor Upshaw, get Chandler.

Upshaw has a major drug problem, I never remember Chandler having that...but Anderson did...That's who can talk the talk to him , and show him his bank account and rings

Dude. It's a basketball team, not an AA meeting. Anderson is not going to be Upshaw's sponsor.:D

Jeez, you give an addict NBA money and see what happens. Marijuana/alcohol is fine with ordinary people but with an athlete I don't know. Cap I knew partook with some weed but was hardly an addict and was never an issue. Upshaw was booted twice after being given several chances to redeem himself. He is a risk to his teammates and to himself.

Agreed, A team in disarray does not need a anchor that may pan out but more than likely will be a repeat of Roy Tarpley

Just found out that Upshaw's hands measured even bigger than Okafor. That's what's up LT! The bad news is that he shot 40% FTs. :p

Bill Walton kinda misled me with his remarks. Sadly I was hoping it was and there might be some sort of redemption.

I think there's still redemption but the road to recovery will be steep. I'm glad we're giving him a chance to prove himself in Summer League.

I have been around crack addicts, there is almost zero chance of redemption once you get hook, just jail time and when they get out the cycle restarts. That's why I'm against having him around our young ones.

I think they measured largest of anyone that was "at" the combine trials, not bigger than Jahlil's. Or do you have a link you can find? I know they're very big though.

Look, if people can run the world while snorting coke, I'm sure a guy can dunk and block while doing it.

    Upshaw fix...

Some pretty good stuff from Upshaw here

    Watch this interview.

It sounds like he, like so many people (I'm a Professor) didn't like the college environment and didn't like the place where he was. I think there are a lot of student athletes who would be better off away from college. They'd be happier, healthier, and more productive. He discusses how things were going well, and he discusses what went wrong (in general terms), and how he has planned and recovered.

Video also shows off his handles, spin moves, three-point stroke.

Says he wants to be in the NBA, wants to be a hard working NBA player, and wants to be active in the community (says he was, too, at UW). Said he sees himself as a top 10 draft pick, but he understands with the mistakes he has made he would be happy just to be in the draft.

He seems like a guy who is susceptible to outside influences. He sounds like he wants to take things into his own hands and improve his life which I admire.

But if he can't handle the college atmosphere, how will he handle the professional atmosphere which can be exponentially more destructive? This is the right path for him. It would have been a mistake to draft him not just for the team buy for himself. He needs to take his life seriously and into his own hands from now on but to get there is difficult.

He sounded great in the interview. I'm excited to see if he can put his money where his mouth is this summer.

The guy looks like a huge potential talent down low especially on defense but yeah.... with some nice skills on offense to go with that. If we knew he was here for our future, with his head on straight ...... A+++ for the draft and D league moves. Just what the doctor ordered to fight the advantages of good to great big men on other teams. Once again am paranoid of someone snaking him from us and of course the great chance of him relapsing while living the dream in L.A.
