Brown has the highest ceiling. The hope is that he leaps into near Tatum-level, though he is not as good as JT, he can raise a level or 2. That's what you looking for when trading Durant. Anunoby is a role player (a great one) and Siakam is a 3rd guy.
I even think Siakam is overrated, but that's another story.

What we need is that Donovan Mitchel trade to happen asap. We HAVE to get something from Utah, there's no better suitor for Russ then that

I think he will get picked up but yeah. He’s going to be a cautionary tale for players for awhile.

Sadly that report is incorrect, he turned down 84 million, not 72. Yeah, it was shocking. His hope was to land 100 million. With how many good PGs were available that summer and how few teams were in the market, his agent gets an F and should have been canned immediately.

Strangely, he's one of the best on the list of remaining FAs

Strangely...seeing both Schroeder and Trez on this list is very sad. They were our 2 big acquisitions the summer we won the chip...

I think given the right role...Trez and Schroeder can both still be effective. I feel like if Lakers just sent Russ home and picked up Schroder as our starting PG...we'd be miles better.

I'm def open to bringing Schroder back...

No official date yet but I'm guessing towards mid/end of September considering some teams are playing preseason games overseas the first week of Oct

I laugh every time I read about Dennis still not being picked up by a team. What an idiot he was turning down our offer.

schroder turning down that deal sort of hurt us in a way, too, imo, as it led to us becoming the merry minimums. hell, had schroder signed that deal, we probably don't make the westbrook trade.

i still think frank jackson is worth a look, too.

i don't think harrell fits with what we want to do, but you can't tell me he's unable to help anyone.

I breathe a heavy sigh of relief and thank the Lord. Not much to laugh at, maybe in hindsight but that was dodging a 100-caliber bullet all the way, we could be so screwed right now.

I agree about dodging a bullet but as @abeer3 said above, there are some downsides. We lost an asset that we traded a first round for. We don’t have Dennis’s contact to use in a trade later. Plus the big one is, we probably don’t trade for Westbrook.

I think the Lakers still trade for Westbrook but we keep either KCP and/or Kuzma.

If Schroder can't get a MLE 6 million deal on the open market, it's hard to see how one goes about trading him for 21 million a year with 3 years left at this point. It's not an asset if it's untradable, there is no expiring value or equitable talent value. Our big hope would have been if we could have got Washington to take him in the Westbrook deal and I just don't think so, too many years, too much money.

didn't trez get into some legal trouble? that's probably why no one's signed him

schroder being unsigned is surprising though. i'm guessing there's behavioral issues that are driving teams away from him. at least going off his lakers tenure, he didn't come off as a guy you want to have in your locker room. his situation is hilarious but its sad to think this team was better off keeping him than trading for russ

People.. take a step outside. Spend time with your loved ones. The trade speculation will heat up in a couple weeks. Until then, enjoy the summer. There’s only so many ways we can talk about the same thing.

Preach it. We come in here to take a step away from our loved ones and spend time talking trash with other fans. Why did you just come in here right now? There are still many, many ways with which we can talk about this s#!t.

 even if I tend to agree with the sentiment, how dare a forum newbie come on here and make such recommendations.

:ADnaughty: I'll let it slide this time, but I'm not always so nice.
