    Lakers linked to...

STRONGEST (We're listed as a frontrunner; other teams listed as frontrunners in parentheses)
    LaMarcus Aldridge (SA)
    DeAndre Jordan (LAC, MIL, DAL)

MIDDLING (We're listed as an also; caps = strongest, lowercase = middling with us)
    Tobias Harris (BOS/DET//nyk)

Quote and fill in the blanks? Or should we have a separate thread just as an "At a Glance" sort of thing?

Yeah. It's pretty crazy because when I see salaries and stuff, it's almost like a math equation or tetris with numbers. I rarely, if ever, stop and actually contemplate just how much that is and what it would do for me in my life. I could buy my in-laws a house...so they never have to stay at mine again when they come into town. :D

As Orlando restricted free agent Tobias Harris will pursue a maximum-level offer sheet on July 1 that the Magic possibly won’t match, the Detroit Pistons and Boston C Bags have emerged as leading candidates for the talented forward, league sources told RealGM.
Harris, 22, is among the top young players on the available market, and could be the most vulnerable restricted free agent to leave his team. Around the NBA, several teams are believed to be open to preparing a near-max contract for Harris — which could approach $15 million-plus per season, an area the

Magic likely elect not to match given the course of extension talks last October and their current team salary structure.
For the Pistons, there is a vision of using Harris as a potential hybrid stretch-wing, capable of playing the small and power forward positions. Several NBA personnel told RealGM that Harris’ slashing and outside shooting will jibe instantly with Stan Van Gundy’s system.

In Orlando, Harris has maintained dialogue with Scott Skiles, his former coach, throughout the year, exchanging encouraging messages. Nevertheless, Orlando's desire to match a maximum-level offer sheet on Harris has been in question.

The two sides couldn’t reach an extension last offseason, Orlando sticking to offers below the $10-to-$11 million that Harris desired — and now promises to surpass. The Magic selected Mario Hezonja, 6-foot-8, with the No. 5 pick in Thursday’s NBA draft. Harris dealt with an ankle injury over a stretch of the season, giving the Magic reason to use him in a lesser role.

The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks have also been long known as interested teams for Harris.

Out of Tennessee in 2011, Harris went to the Milwaukee Bucks with the 19th overall pick in the NBA Draft. He spent two years with the Bucks before being dealt to Orlando in 2013. Over four NBA seasons, Harris has established himself as a tremendous citizen in the community, with a strong work ethic on the court shown in year-to-year leaps. He was drafted with star potential and has sought to reach the level through offseason training.

At 6-foot-8, Harris averaged 17.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 34.8 minutes in 68 games last season. He has made shooting improvements each season, a sign of growth every summer, and shot 36.4 percent from three-point range in 2014-15. Harris has career averages of 12.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Why the HELL would Harris want to go to basketball hell in Detroit? I kinda get Boston...but Detroit I don't understand at all. I don't see him going to NYK, and certainly now I don't even see us going after him, even though that's what I wanted us to do, but I guess we really have our sights set on KD next summer...

I'm starting to think DeAndre is a perfect fit for us...LMA probably going to SA..Love probably wants to come here but he's a horrible fit...Monroe probably going to NYK...Lopez will stay in BKN....I mean it's really DJ, LMA or Love...but DJ is the perfect fit for us.

I wonder how possible it is for us to get Marc Gasol...

based on gasol's public statements, the lakers have no chance.

Jordan is a good fit, but my money's on a Jordan for chandler double s&t.

I do think the lakers have a good shot at Aldridge if he really plans to leave Portland, and I'd think they're the number one suitor for kevin love should opt to leave Cleveland. I do fear Houston on both counts, though.

If Houston takes a shot at either of those PFs I'd be happy to keep taking their picks and wrongfully discarded players...

    What did gasol say?

Even though i was against deandre at first, the way our roster is constructed im all in for him now especially if upshaw does well we'd have a defensive C as a starter AND off the bench

Lamarcus has supposedly said he doesnt wanna play C

My first choice is marc but ill settle for deandre :)

    No to love
Plays no defense. Injury prone no thanks

Wanted him bad last year but now with our roster... we need more rim protection than Moose can provide.

Ok. I like this team. Jordan's is making more per year, though. Plus, Tarik plays better at the 5, and we could move Kelly to the backup 4 position. Other than that, good job. Oh, and a guy I would slot in DJ's place is Robin Lopez if we don't land LMA or DJ.

Where does that figure come from? I'm looking at the Salary Cap FAQ. Was the cap set higher than 67.1? Or is his salary set higher for some other reason?

No, the cap wasn't set higher. His salary is set by the number of years he's played in the league from my understanding; plus, the Clips have Bird RIGHTS. They are eligible to give him 7.5% raises each year. Any other team he signs with gives him 4.5%. I could be mistaken. So, anybody with more cap knowledge, please correct me.
