Hield is super overrated here. If we would toss a pick in to get him, we might as well toss in two picks to get Kyrie and Seth.

Well - if Phoenix is expected to match, then this means nothing lol.

Honestly if PHX does not match, they're the dumbest franchise in the league to let a 22-year old center who was the 1st pick in 2018 just WALK for NOTHING.

They have to match it and then make Monty work it out with Ayton, Booker and CP3.

ANd if it doesn't work...trade Ayton at the deadline next year.

Well not resigning Ayton puts Phoenix under the cap so Robert Sarver is pretty shrewd he may prefer getting a reset on the repeat offenders tax coming up in a year rather than take on DA's salary. Especially if they can get a good budget center, the position just isn't worth that max kind of money if you aren't Joker/Embid/AD so I think he will let DA walk.

For Indy, our tradable assets of value are THT & Nunn and if we are going to give them up to Indy it has to be Myles, not Buddy which THT+Nunn wouldn't even get you anyways, money-wise.

so this probably means no more KD to phoenix

which would be great for the lakers in two ways: it doesn't make the suns better and it increases the chances he ends up in miami which would make it tougher for the C Bags to reach the finals again

Yeah I don’t really want KD on the Suns. If we could land Turner for THT and Nunn and Kyrie and Curry for Russ and a pick or two that would be ideal.

I bet KD ends up with the Warriors, again. They are the only team that can give up young, very good pieces, and picks and still have enough left to remain the favorites to win it all.
If it’s Miami, I think they will be left depleted and too top heavy to get past Boston.

Well that was quick. Can't be traded until Jan 15th and he essentially get's a no trade clause as well.

i don't see why GS does that when they have a promising group of kids in moody, kuminga, wiseman, and poole

plus, KD wants to be the #1 option on whatever team he ends up on. if he went back to GS it'd be "KD only won because of steph" all over again which is the reason why he left in the first place

That will be interesting to watch given how things ended up for the Suns last year. Don’t see how that’s gonna work when there’s already friction in the locker room.

That $ for someone they felt they had to bench down the stretch of the 4th Q of the most important game(s) of their post-season? Oook.

very curious to see how it plays out. i don't like letting an asset just walk, but overpaying for a guy who maybe doesn't want to be there can be worse. essentially, dallas and phx made opposite decisions. we'll see who ends up happier.

Kam brothers talked about this idea some today on their pod. The notion of us clearing the books for the Jazz to get quality depth in return and there's several combinations on both sides to make something like that work.

Beasley cannot happen. I know Pip is only on a 2-way, but you cannot have those two on the same team.

Unconditional no to Pat Bev and that's my stance in perpetuity. You guys remember The Fly with Jeff Goldblum (freaky movie, first saw it when I was around 7. Really f***ed with me)? He teleports, a fly is in one of the teleporters and Goldblum becomes a fly-man. Ok, well same thing happened to Pat Bev. Only in his teleporter was a mosquitoe and a steaming pile of s***. Seriously, f*** that guy!

But I would absolutely do this as a fall back: Russ, THT, Nunn, Gabe, one first rounder for Conley, JC, Bogdanovic, and Gay.

Mostly same move conceptually as my 3 team deal but we get JC instead of Hield (Indy gets cut out) and fewer picks are moving around to satisfy everyone. Conley, JC, and Gay each have 2 years left so we're helping them out there and Ainge gets a 1st to put in his chest. He's not doing this without a 1st. JC is a better player then Hield and gives you another ball handler in Bron lineups if you're managing Conley's minutes. I think we get enough shooting from Conley and Bogdanovic that we'd be OK in that department. Bogdanovic and Gay give us a couple wings. And JC gets to come home and fills in the Monk role but on steroids.

One thing they mentioned on the pod that i didn't realize: only $14m of Conley's $24m is guaranteed in 23-24. Making that much easier to deal with then.

I think Pat Bev is hopefully being used as a threat to get Russ to want to leave. Hopefully we're using the threat of interest to get Russ to pack up and help us facilitate something. Then the Jazz would keep him and use him to help get Russ to expedite his buyout

At this point, I’m not sure it’s possible to construct a Russ trade idea that I would be opposed to. I can not handle running it back with him on the team no matter what.

The problem is that I still feel the Kyrie option is the most realistic, given all the circumstances between Kyrie and the Nets.

All these other ideas sound too good to be true to me. And to be honest, even the Kyrie trade proposal is also increasingly sounding too good to be true.

+ all of our 2nd round picks until 2030 and the firstborn child from any of the Buss siblings. There is no way Ainge will deal with us unless he can completely gut us so the c-bags can have a laugh at their annual pot-luck dinner. They need something to make themselves feel better about this year's final's loss and failure to surpass the Lakers in rings.

I just saw the '22-'23 lux tax got an enormous increase to 149mil. Ayton's hit on Pheonix payroll is not as bad as I thought now.

Plus Phoenix got Ayton cheaper than if they re-signed him. 4 years instead of 5, smaller raises.
