As for a plan B, this seems much more realistic than getting Turner from Indy. I’m not high on Buddy either, but we all know that Rob wants to adopt this kid.

 

I wonder how this influences any KD trade discussions for Phoenix.

Is this perhaps the first domino to a larger multi-team deal? Or is this a sign that trade talks with Phoenix and Brooklyn have stalled, so Ayton decided to just go get his bag, and this will make it trickier for Phoenix to make a KD trade package?

 

It's the first domino regardless. If this squashes the Suns chances then maybe Miami moves back in the hunt. Keep KD east. Suns are worse. Now just give us Kyrie

 

So if this offer sheet gets signed, Ayton isn’t getting traded no matter what. May put the dagger into Phoenix’s pursuit of KD.

I don’t think Sarver is going to match this, as they haven’t seemed too high on Ayton. So for Indiana, I doubt they picture Ayton and Turner playing together. Might see Turner traded soon.

 

Wonder if we try and go in on that Hield/Turner package

 

If DA signs without trade. Theyll have too many bigs. THT+Nunn for Turner.

Westbrook + 2 FRP For Kyrie + Joe or Seth.

 

FYI, I think Westbrook + picks for Turner, Hield, and TJ McConnell would clear the cap room that Indiana would need (assuming they also cut their unguaranteed contracts).

But I’m sure they may have other ways to get the cap room they need.

 

The intrigue kicks off now. If the Suns match that offer sheet Ayton will be a Sun at least until next year. He couldn't be traded to Brooklyn anyway in a KD trade, because the Nets have Ben Simmons. Myles Turner should be available for real if Indiana gets Ayton. I'd rather make a play for him alone than pick up Hield as part of a package. Turner is on an expiring contract this season too. That's a huge difference from last season, having Turner, Jones, Bryant and AD available at the 5. We'd be bigger and more physical..I like that idea.

My favorite trade scenario exactly. At the end of the day. Irving ,Turner and Curry are worth 2 FRP and the players listed.

 

I don't understand why Indy is throwing that kind of paper at Ayton when it has Myles on its books for far less. Yeah, DA scores and boards better but Myles beats him bad on blocks and that inside presence, and they shoot similarly. But either way one of them has to go and you have to assume it's Myles.

And this valuation out there of Buddy Hield is like, um, NO. He is way over valued, you can shoot your a** off and if you can't bring back on the other end and are just a hole for scoring then who cares? I hope Rob doesn't do something stupid here. I value him at THT + 1 second round pick though the money wouldn't work.
