Knicks getting him would be great. Maybe, maybe KD can find his way to Miami then? Ayton leaves Phoenix. We snag Kyrie and weaken the Suns.

    Brooklyn is posturing.

When KD requested the trade, he requested it through ownership.

There hasn't been any indication he wants to stay and work it out in Brooklyn and unless we get him on record saying otherwise, there's no concern on my part, yet.

The thing I'm waiting to see is if LBJ will use his contract as leverage to force a Kyrie trade if this deal isn't consummated when he's eligible for extension.

    Get the popcorn.

At this point, the sooner Lebron is a non-Laker the better it is for the Lakers. I'm pretty much done with that f***ing clown.

Hypothetical scenario here - If Lebron says he will agree to sign a 2 year extension only if the Kyrie trade goes through (or else he threatens to walk as a free agent in 2023)… do you do the deal then with 2 first round picks?

The thing about that is, Kyrie will likely sign a extension too and hopefully Rob will align AD/Lebron/Kyrie’s contracts to all come off the books in 2025.

I also wonder if the Nets would be amicable and we can somehow get both Royce O’Neal and Seth Curry while THT gets sent out to match salaries if we do agree to give up both picks. Royce is on a smaller contract than Joe Harris, but he’s a decent defender. We get more depth this way too… it makes it easier to digest giving up the 2 picks.

The downside to that is if AD/Lebron/Kyrie do all come off the books in 2025, that basically means the Lakers will most likely be in rebuild mode and be ridiculously bad (unless we manage to sign some big time free agents with that cap space in 2025). It will be the Max Christie era moving forward…. So there’s a good chance 2027 and 2029 picks be high lottery.

McMenamin is saying if Kyrie deal falls through Pacers are a potential trade partner. Other than Hield who else is interesting? Turner would be but do we really need 3 centers with AD on the roster? Would be redundant.

That isn’t promising, Indy is the one who turned Pelinka in for tampering and cost the Lakers a half million dollar fine. There is no love loss between Pelinka and Pritchard, I feel that Indy would have to win any trade they make with the Lakers.

I keep up with the NBA pretty well, so I decided to try and make a 4-team trade where almost everyone is happy....
Use to you couldn't write and article without a named source in it. An unnamed source could be a 2nd (protected) in the article if need be....

Now, everyone doesn't care if the unnamed source (why can't the person be named???) is central to the headline or not...

If the Turner deal is on the table we should just pull the trigger on it and be done with the Nets.

I’m not bowing to a 38 year old LeBron. I don’t even like the idea of giving him 50 mil per as he declines. It’s not that we are being stingy not getting this deal done, it’s that the 27 and 29 picks are the ONLY assets we have to get better. If you give them both up in one deal you’re screwed UNLESS you get Harris and Seth Curry also in the deal because those are shooters we need. But if the Kyrie thing blows up and he doesn’t re-sign and we already sent our 29 pick out, we’re f*****, we have no way to improve. The Nets know this, that’s why they want it, but too bad, they can’t have it, they can see what they can get for Kyrie elsewhere. So far I haven’t heard a single other potential deal leaked, not even a hypothetical.

Hell if LeBron wanted to help rather than hurting our leverage, he’d come out right now and say he’s going to sign the extension on august 4th. That kills any of the leverage he’s given Brooklyn by putting it out there that he doesn’t know if he’ll sign, leaving the Nets to be able to say, “see, you need Kyrie to get LeBron to stay”. But no, LeBron always has to be impatient and passive aggressive, with the “f them picks” stuff, whining to the media when he doesn’t get the moves he wants done like Russ not being traded at last years deadline (which would have KILLED us long term, imagine having no ‘27 pick, John Wall, and all minimums). You just don’t bend to him anymore, you just don’t.

No, it’s not redundant, you always go talent first. Turner and Bryant could play together, Turner and AD could, AD and Jones can. Turner and Hield would be a huge get for Russ, that’s instantly 2 starters to plug in with LeBron and AD. Turner does concern me though, I feel like that foot of his is a ticking time bomb, and our luck is so bad that’s when it’d give out.

my belief is that all other moves are redundant if we dont do the Kyrie trade. That is the only trade on the table that can turn us back into contenders, and even so we need a lot of things to go right for that to happen like getting another 1-2 shooters, and everyone staying healthy.

Anything else is just treading water so that Turner/Hield trade is a waste of time, and the only thing that trade will save us is having to endure another painful season watching Russ.

a lot of credible reporters stated that Kyrie wants to play for the Lakers. New York news are trash. I rather hear it from a legit source
