I think we should respect that we all have our own political views and there is no silver bullet for our social and political issues. I look at this forum as a place to blow off some steam so some smarm is ok as long it is not personal. At the end of the day, we are giving our opinion about a game - we can do this without personal attacks. All love for everyone on this forum!

 

I’m just not sure how valuable saving cap space is to the Nets. They’ve got a super billionaire as an owner. I think they’re hung up on the assets they get in return.

You don't have to be a gun nut to carry. I'm not. I have one primarily because my business has me carrying large sums of cash on my person sometimes. Plus, I have a decent aim. I practiced alot shooting rabbits at night with my pellet rifle, haha

Folks, glad to hear reports about a 3rd team are starting to come. As I mentioned earlier, Pelinka has been trying to find another for a while now to ease some of the burden of the deal. Good to see that unlike as was previously reported, he is not sitting around but continuing to gauge interest around the league. Once the Nets back off on their pick demands, this deal should be done quick, as the framework is already in place.

It happens in every argument unfortunately. Its annoying.

 

I can't personally confirm the reports of the Spurs being involved, but I do know that the FO has been canvassing the league for potential 3rd teams for a while now, so it is completely plausible to me. Currently, BKN's ask still sits high and would probably be unsavory to any 3rd team, but I think Pelinka knows he can negotiate and is trying to keep a 3rd team locked and loaded to put a deal together quickly as soon as the opportunity strikes.

I can add, however, that there's a lot of internal discussion about how heavily to promote Irving as a Laker, given his past controversies. The fact that these conversations are taking place lead me to believe that there is a > 50% chance that the deal gets done, as similar meetings were had prior to Davis's arrival. However, it is not guaranteed by any means, as we can all recall with the preparations that preceded Leonard debacle. Ultimately the decision as to whether or not this gets done rests with BKN, and since LAL can't control that variable, no binding promises can be made.

Nonetheless, I am excited, and hope that for the sake of us fans that we can close this deal and the summer ready to make another push at the title!!
