Had he signed the deal, we would not have had to move KCP and Kuzma last year for Westbrook. Rob would have likely gave him up in the trade.

Hahahahhahahahahhaahahhahahah. Oh my god!! One of the funniest sequences in wrestling history. Triple H was really good with comedic promos.....Playing The Crock was almost as good as this one...

They just won a chip..they are looking to save a couple of bucks. They still have their rookies, Wiseman, Poole,Looney and Wiggins. They haven't exactly started a fire sale.

Let’s hope it’s tomorrow. The 4th of July has bad connotations. I speak, of course, of the Nash debacle.

I'd call up Utah and kick the tires on trying to pry Jared Vanderbilt. That's a nice cheap option for a 4/5. PJ Washington too. Gabriel and the traded player exception would match those contracts.

You don't seem to understand this point, role players aren't worthless - they are interchangeable.

Basketball has rotations as little as 7 players during the playoffs. Your star can play 40-44 mins in big games and be on ball or the on ball defender for literally the whole time they are on the court. There is no other sport where a star can have as much impact in a team based sport as the NBA and basketball.

If we call the modern era of basketball 1980 and onwards. Here are the champions:

    80: LAL - KAJ & Magic
    81: BOS - Bird
    82: LAL - KAJ & Magic
    83: PHI - Dr J & Moses Malone
    84: BOS - Bird
    85: LAL - KAJ & Magic
    86: BOS - Bird
    87: LAL - KAJ & Magic
    88: LAL - KAJ & Magic
89: DET - Isaiah Thomas (Team Effort)
90: DET - Isaiah Thomas (Team Effort)
    91: CHI - MJ & Pippen
    92: CHI - MJ & Pippen
    93: CHI - MJ & Pippen
    94: HOU - Hakeem
    95: HOU - Hakeem
    96: CHI - MJ & Pippen
    97: CHI - MJ & Pippen
    98: CHI - MJ & Pippen
    99: SAS - Duncan & Robinson
    00: LAL - Shaq & Kobe
    01: LAL - Shaq & Kobe
    02: LAL - Shaq & Kobe
    03: SAS - Duncan
    04: DET - Team Effort
    05: SAS - Duncan
    06: MIA - Wade & Shaq
    07: SAS - Duncan
    08: BOS - Garnett, Pierce & Allen
    09: LAL - Kobe
    10: LAL - Kobe
    11: DAL - Dirk
    12: MIA - Lebron & Wade
    13: MIA - Lebron & Wade
    14: SAS - Team Effort
    15: GSW - Curry
    16: CAV - Lebron
    17: GSW - Curry
    18: GSW - Curry
19: TOR - Kawhi (Team Effort)
    20: LAL - Lebron
    21: MIL - Giannis
    22: GSW - Curry

In the last 40+ years of modern basketball, there has only been 2 outright team efforts as winners DET in 03 and SAS in 2014. You can count Detroit in 89 and 90 and Toronto in 2019 if you really want. So over 90% of the time, the teams that win championships are the ones that have top 5 MVP caliber players. That's why you can't build a team of great role players and win. There is only a handful of teams every year with stars that can truly win and there are tens of dozens of role players you could surround them with and get the job done.

No, I understand your guys’ flawed point completely. I just think it’s hogwash. Carry on, and have a good night.

Same boat as Brick is in and I would much rather chance the light going on and burning bright in Kyrie’s weird mind than trusting Russ’s not bright, self unaware in his own bubble brain to stick to the plan all year, and with infinitely less talent for what the Lakers need than Irving has.

You don't present any counter argument, so if its a flawed point, it should be easy to argue against it.

    Guess we'll see.

Hopefully goes down tomorrow. We can finish up this roster and see what we have going into the season.

Yes but with Hollinger’s analysis there’s a perfectly flawed analysis of the likely winner in terms of wins and losses. :D

Lots of progress made in the last few hours. Framework of deal has been agreed upon. All that’s left is for LA to find a third team such that they can get additional assets/give up less picks. Otherwise they will move forward with both.

Lots of credit goes to Irving. Kyrie’s camp has actively signaled to other teams that he wants to only go to LA, and given his prior history, teams are not willing to take a risk on him like Toronto was with Leonard.

    Almost there (but basically done)!!!

Kyrie + AD + Bron gives a shot at a title vs play in. Fingers crossed this gets done ASAP.
