Where are they finding minutes for all their bigs?

That would be a much better package than a late first and Theis. Boston was in dire need of another guard who can handle the ball, too.

It's nuckin futs how far a first round pick will take you this summer. There's a Grand Canyon sized discrepancy in how cheap the trade market has been and how insanely expensive free agency has been. They're usually not this far from one another.

FIVE!? Five picks for the most overrated and overpaid center in the NBA is one of the worst trades I've seen in a long time. I wouldn't give those players plus two protected 1sts for him. And he plays the same position as their best player. This isn't 90s- early 00s. I get KAT can shoot, but DAMN! How's Ant going to get to the rim when he has to get by those two trees and their defenders?

I’m not crash hot on a Kyrie and AD team. Neither have been particularly healthy over there career while Kyrie blows hot and cold and might just give up mentally.

Then you combine it with trading all our first round picks to the end of the decade, we aren’t sitting great. It would be a let’s hope we win another championship before things blow up situation.

Terrible overpay for Gobert. I imagine you’ll see KAT taking about 10 three attempts a game now, and still shooting it at 40%. Guys a great shooter.

Protect them up to 8 at least if you have to give them up.

our future unil the end of the decade is f***ed anyway and 27 and 29 picks aren't going to change that.

best chance we have is running a couple of years with the Lebron/AD/Kyrie core, go for another ring, then when Lebron leaves, trade AD for picks and hopefully we also run up Kyrie's value and get something in return for him.

We currently have all but 1 of our first round draft picks for the rest of the decade.

2024 or 2025 goes to NOP, they decide
Everything else we still have. '27 and '29 are the only ones we are able to trade

Also by getting Minny to take this trade, Ainge set a great market for Mitchell. If Rudy Doody gets 5 picks, Mitchell has to get you 8.

Is there no longer a week long moratorium period before the verbal agreements can be made official?

Or did Lakers social media just jump the gun?

While I agree with your take, replacing a net-negative in Westbrook with Kyrie is like getting 2 superstars simultaneously from a talent perspective.

In fact there are maybe 1 or 2 players in league that I would choose over Kyrie in terms of fit alongside Lebron and AD.

The obsession with Hield is comical at this point.

If that’s the Plan B, we are still a 10th place squad.
