    What if the Nets have the same outlook for Kyrie as we do with Russ though?

    Don’t want him, but would rather hold onto him in the hopes that his expiring contract gets more valuable at the trade deadline rather then selling low right now?

    In that scenario, it doesn’t really matter what Kyrie wants, a team at the deadline might want him solely for the expiring salary.

    They can take Russ's expiring and a pick though. Possibly then move Russ's expiring at the deadline?

    Excellent point, yeah might as well get a pick for Kyrie now, and then still have the option of getting more assets with the Russ expiring later.

    Welp..Stephen A is saying that Kyrie is telling people that he is going to play out the season in Brooklyn, and join the Lakers in free agency next summer.

    iow: trade me for russ or whatever you can nab in a 3-teamer. i mean, do you want the guy there if he's saying he won't re-sign? that's cutting off your nose to spite your face.

    edit: and i know kawhi, paul george, etc., but do you really think this will be that? who's even giving you a kawhi-level deal here (toronto gave up derozan in his prime, remember)? indy got sabonis and oladipo for george.

    dallas is probably offering tim hardaway jr. and davis bertans.
