    The Nets are probably going to completely reset the roster so having a giant expiring would really help.

    I’ve never seen a more fickle star on the level of KD before. Dude doesn’t like challenge, he just wants to pack up and go to any team that’s right on the edge of winning a title, it’s pathetic honestly

    KD in Miami = Championship. Damn Riles, guy makes some shady deals but he's GOOD.

    I still remember KD saying something about going thru people instead of joining them... that must have been like 10 years ago. Dude is the biggest opportunist in the history of the NBA.

    eh, the cba still didn't stop people from using bird rights and trades to just annihilate the cap like gs and the clips do. it's why i like operating over the cap. the only thing you can't do is accept S&Ts or use the MLE (which is often a mistake, historically, anyway). because the clips didn't have to tear all the way down when they got leonard, they've just grown that group's salary via trades and legal raises left and right.

    I’m not entirely sure this is a “walking away from the challenge” kinda thing.

    I think Brooklyn burned the bridge with how they treated Kyrie.

    Personally I respect Brooklyn’s FO for not allowing their stars to hold them hostage, but KD and Kyrie likely felt disrespected from their perspective

    Heat:

    Both teams have their own FRPs to trade. Suns might be able to put together the better package but I'm not betting against Riley here.

    I don’t know. Brooklyn is looking at a “historical” package of players and picks for KD, wouldn’t they want a similar package for Kyrie? Send CP3 and Ayton for Kyrie and KD?

    Washington - KD for KP and 10,000,000 picks
    Boston - KD for Jaylen or Tatum
    Memphis - KD for Jaren Jackson and all their young talent
    New Orleans - KD for Ingram or Zion plus all their young talent and ALL their picks
    Minnesota - KD for Edwards and DLO
    Philly - KD for Tobias Harris, Maxey, and Thybulle
    NYK - KD for RJ Barrett / Randle / 1,000,000 picks
    Denver - KD for MPJ / Jamal Murray
    Utah - KD for Gobert plus 1M picks
    Cleveland - KD for all their young talent except Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen
    Toronto - KD for OG/Barnes or OG/Siakam or Barnes/Siakam or OG/FVV
