Lots of interesting names on that list and I’m pleased to see I’m not way off my estimations on what we are looking for. A 3&D wing that can start at SG and a 3&D big we can start at C.

I hope we also have some ideas for a trade for THT, that can bring back whatever we don’t get with the MLE and minimums.

I know everyone wants Otto, and I would too, but why would he leave that team and Franchise for ours?
    I just don’t see it.

Monk route on steroids. He'd get to start and get all the spotlight earning him a nice payday next summer. Warriors are too deep for him to get the kind of PT we can give him.

On the Fischer/Stein Spotify Live: Warriors prepared for Porter to leave. Fischer hears he has multiple tax payers mid level offers.

Few more nuggets from the Spotify Live Session

Fischer: Ingles has several options for up to the full mid level ($10m). Memphis interested.

Griffin going to a LA team according to Fischer. Stein has heard a couple other teams but hasn't had it well sourced yet

Fischer: Hartenstein is ORL's target for $8m a year.

Fischer: 'Dipo getting strong consideration from Wiz.

If we don’t end up retaining Monk, the best case scenario would be that he quickly signs a big deal (full MLE or higher) very early in free agency.

Would be nice to have direct recent evidence for the “take a discount with us for the minimum, gamble on yourself and take advantage of the big stage to earn yourself a big payday next year” pitch.

Dream scenario would be that we land one of our top TPMLE targets with the TPMLE, but then are also able to convince one of our other targets in that same tier to come on board for the minimum.

For example if you get Bamba with the TPMLE but then are also able to convince Gary Harris or TJ Warren to sign for the minimum, I’d start to feel a lot better about our roster. At that point, just some solid minimum signings on young athletic defenders and reclamation projects would be enough to change my outlook from “this season is doomed already” to “if things break our way and we stay healthy, we can be decent”

i like buha's list for the most part, but would shuffle a few names up and down.

i don't understand the interest in gary harris for anything but the minimum, though.

i think people are overreacting to blake griffin. he'd be a vet min, end of bench guy, i think. i'm only upset if we get more than one griffin type, or if we use the mle on one.

i'm glad ingles isn't high on our list, as i feel 35 year old role players coming off acl tears are a luxury for top teams and not guys you can count on to fill empty minutes on a team that missed the playoffs.

I'd rather not risk it. Fool me once. Remember when we thought DJ was going to be a 3rd string C only to roll him out as the starter on opening night.

harden's taking a 15 million dollar paycut so philly can build their roster (add his buddy pj, really).

*screams in lebron and westbrook's max salaries*

edit: and it's looking like john collins is going to go for not much.

    *screams in westbrook trade*

Would you really want to restructure Russ’ contract for 3 years 90m at this point in time though?

Also have to say I disagree on Ingles. He was never athletic to begin with and relied on his IQ and shooting. He’ll be a good 3&D player till he can’t go anymore. Shame he is going to get the full MLE because I’d have loved him for the minimum.

Looking at all the names provided in the athletic piece, the Blake Griffin report really stands out as a true outlier.

With Porter Jr, I think it’ll be more so that the Warriors won’t offer him anything more than the vet minimum because the Warriors are going to have a massive luxury tax bill.

So that results in Porter exploring other deals for MLE money and the hope is he picks the Lakers. He definitely will get a ton of playing time here.

With Orlando not offering Bamba the qualifying offer and making him a unrestricted free agent, I would seriously explore a THT for Bamba sign and trade…. Maybe we could even work out a scenerio where Gary Harris is part of the sign and trade deal too for a salary slightly more than the minimum

    To no surprise

Wonder if we offered THT or they asked for THT. Meaning do they value him more than THT or do we?

    They're offering $8m. He wants $10m?

no because he still wouldn't be worth it. harden will be worth his salary. my point is that paying max for guys who aren't producing max is killing us. these 50 million dollar salaries are really only values for like, 4 players in the league, and it's not the guys that have them.

never athletic to begin with doesn't mean immobile. he was already starting to trend down when he got hurt (i think he had been in trade rumors due in part to the regression). again, some team with a full MLE can give him 1 year 10 million and hope he can be ready to contribute by late season/playoffs. he doesn't fit our (many) needs.
