I used to love basketball, but then along came LeBron Our style of basketball is flat out unwatchable. i’m sure the G league will be many times more fun to watch
people use the term "betting on one's self" in weird ways, imo. anyway, here's hoping he can be brunson or vanvleet!
Hey at least he’s not yet another midget guard. Maybe our gaggle of developmental coaches can turn him into something useful at his height in a year or two. He's got next to no highlights from UCLA where he was delayed a year playing due to a medical condition they found with his heart that required surgery, and then playing for the new coach Cronin after they fired Alford who recruited him. Got fed up after some DNP's and announced he was leaving for LSU where of course Pops played. Then he gets a stress fracture in his foot and by the time he's back able to play in his junior season now, just not a whole lot there and probably not at best of conditioning. Thank goodness for the HS highlights against smaller players. Like Pops he enjoys the mugging after dunks and UNLIKE Pops he can shoot a traditional jumper. Come on Handy and all you other guys .... make something out of his height and whatever skills he has and his desire to be in the NBA.
Wow was only thinking about the start next week … thanks Pops! Maybe though cough up some of that “pocket change” for satellite or cable?
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat - 5 p.m. ET, NBATV Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors - 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2 If you’re not around a TV screen, you can stream the games airing on ESPN networks via WatchESPN or the ESPN app. But keep in mind that you need a cable-login subscription. If you don’t have a cable login to access ESPN for a live stream, you can get a free trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream the games.
Cool. Reminder those are east coast times. Lakers / Miami at 2PM on ESPN as you say, not NBA as shown above, according to LA Times.
Hoping Shareef is back to full strength and stronger even now that he’s healthy to work again after the stress fracture in his foot had to be rehabbed with rest 1st half of LSU season …. AND that maybe there’s something actually there to be developed. By our fine group of coaches who do just that. 6’10” (young enough to maybe still be growing?) from “MDE” genes with the MDE himself in his ear about what the NBA is about & what it’s going to take …. and with the cajones to ignore that same MDE Pop who wanted him to stay in school …. because he wants to be in the NBA now.
Halfway through the 1st quarter, Pippen is very small, looks like a G-League lifer to me, but I dunno. Christie looks solid on defense, shot looks bad like he’s super nervous. Swider hit a shot, good form.
Really entertaining game so far, we’re up 21-7. Swider hit a nice 3, Huff hit a 3 and is blocking shots, Shareef had a nice score at the hoop.
