Love Monk and will be eternally grateful to him for being the one bright spot of last season but we cannot bring him back for the MLE. He does not help solve any of our weaknesses and uses the one tool we have to actually bring in a difference-making player.

I doubt Porter will be a difference maker. He'll probably be injured.

Honestly the way the market is going its going to be hard to see anyone being a difference maker for what we can afford.

    Monk vs Porter

Kind of depends on what we do with Russ right?
If Russ is still around then I'd go with Porter. It'll be a repeat of last season where we need size on the wings. If Russ is traded then I'd go with Monk. His productivity would be a bargain still at the TPMLE. Then again that's assuming we are getting wings with a Russ trade...

monk, but i can definitely see why folks would pick porter. i really think he might get more than the mini mle, too.

i like monk because he's younger and i think a bigger value at that price.

again, the mini mle is not going to solve any of our problems, so if a good player falls in our lap, get him.

That's a little too rich for OG, and I like him.

good. stan still has some room to improve and was looking like a rotation player last year, imo.

Thoughts on Ingles for the minimum if he's that cheap?

Just throwing darts and wanted some feedback.

Definitely. Think shot quality and three point percentages will make him a rotation piece.

Porter has lost a lot of mobility since his injuries. Just a decent 3&D guy with his best years behind him. Would take Monk any day over him.

I really think Monk can be a 20ppg player this season and improve on D.

Not sure who the reporter who wrote this article is or where this was sourced from, but

    https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/n...alen-brunson-rudy-gobert-and-others-will-land

The wording suggests we are targeting just Hield, but I don’t think salary wise it’s possible for us to trade for only Hield. THT+Nunn wouldn’t match salaries.

So the only possibility for Hield would be a Russ trade that also brings back Brogdon.

I’d definitely still be on board with that, but I’m not holding my breath.

I like him. He’s a shooter, smart player and tough defender… though his torn acl is a concern

Ingles is legit one of the best shooters in the league.

If he can get healthy, its a yes from me for the min.

No, you aren't getting a 3 and D wing for the MLE that doesn't have some flaws or concerns....

That being said, the Lakers have no choice but to gamble on one or a couple if they can split the MLE up.

Wings, wings and more wings....like a day at Hooters. And you hope that among the ones we signed after the draft and the few on the roster a couple of them overachieve.....

It is the only direction we can take. If we do wind up moving RW, it isn't going to be for a good wing, but rather someone else's do not want list- who probably shoots ok and is a decent offensive option....but no, we won't be getting a good 3 and D wing back...

Monk is a luxury we simply can't afford as much as I would love to have him back....

unless TJ Warren is proven healthy which I seriously doubt, there simply is not a wing in this buyout market, that can replace Monk's production with better defense.

Porter's definitely not it, from what we've seen in the Warriors Playoff run. He was shaky on Defense, even playing limited minutes.

Even though Monk said he might consider taking the MLE, he's gone. He's going to get a more lucrative contract. Porter is too injury prone but if I'm him I would sign anyone willing to give him the MLE. I rather give it to Gary Payton Jr.
