hartenstein is ungettable at minimum. i could see the clips letting zubac walk and keeping hartenstein at his raise for two years with a player option (assuming nobody offers more).

I was the biggest Caruso fan ever. My dislike of Westbrook has to do with his lack of defense, his brick shooting and his turnovers amongst many other faults. Even if Bald Eagle was still here, I wouldn’t change my opinion on Russ.

Lebron wanted THT for Wood, that's why he didn't care about draft picks stuff. They didn't want Wall period, that's why that deal didn't go down. The media focused on the Wall/Westbrook angle. Nobody wants John Wall in any fashion including us. Of course every trade offer involves some junk you hope the other side takes, and Rob is known for coughing up 1st rd picks like they are 2nd rounders, I would ask for one too. The man makes 47 million dollars dude, that contract is hard to move period even with the player demanding a trade, because if he doesn't like the trade destination, NOBODY is going to give up anything of value for the player.

we need Monk. I dont know how this team would look like without his scoring next year, but its in no way or shape a contender, even if Nunn can somewhat replace his scoring.

It's very unlikely we can find someone that provides similar value to Monk with the mini-MLE, plus he's still only 24 and likely to improve.

League has been around awhile, all these top 5, top 10 and top 20 lists need to be doubled. If you are a top 10 Laker of all time, you are frigging great. But Lebron would have to play with US for another 5 years and win at least two more rings to even have a shot at that list. First guy he would pass is West.

I don't know about that one, they like Zubac too. More than Hartenstein I hear. I also don't know if he wouldn't take the minimum if he thought he'd cash in during the next offseason. I would offer him the 6 million though, but we are looking at over 100 million dollars coming off the cap next summer. It depends on how much of a salesman Rob is with his pitch.

I think people also are forgetting that unlike previous years we won't have the first pick of vet min FAs considering we are not seen as contenders next year.

Of course considering how he performed for us last season, he should get that Mini. He bucked all trends by shooting better here than on his previous team. If he was on the market coming off a season like that on another team, we'd be ecstatic if he signed with us on the mini.

Like the bigs you listed. I like Monk. The roster is just comprised of too many guards, IMO. We need to make a decision on what or a couple of them and explore the trade market for an impact wing, IMO.

And then there's just internal development. Ham & and the coaching staff need to develop these guys, and I hope quickly.

I think Reaves will see more playing time, too. There was some games last year Bradley would get time over him. If he's playing well, that won't happen. Think he can play the SG/SF role a lot. Just needs to improve his strength.

Stanley is another guy that we didn't have until late last year. If he can take the next step and hit 3's at s decent rate, he can get mins.

And we we need to hit on some of these minimums. Explore trade, etc.

    We need bodies...lol

We are a contenders as long as James and Davis are healthy. Considering the amount of potential cap space we'll have next summer, I think the Lakers are still a prime vet minimum option. Actually one of the top ones in the NBA.

Magic and Rob had determined they weren’t going to pay what they expected his post rookie contract was going to be. But yeah. And handing him to the Clippers. And Muscala not doing squat for our situation. :(

Yeah move him for Kyrie I guess. I haven't heard anything else besides the same Charlotte noise, even that has been switched to being around Hayward. That idea is crap.

I think in theory the Front office would much prefer to offload Russ before FA starts, so we can sign the vet mins and build around whatever we get back from the Russ trade.

LMAO at fools who really thought Kyrie would opt out & sign with the Lakers for $6M. Talking about "if anyone's crazy enough to do it it's Kyrie". Lol some of ya'll are something else.

i agree. just don't think it's out there right now. if we're patient, we might get it.

yeah, i know everyone's written off THT, but he's younger than some of this year's draftees and has actually shown a lot on the real stage. we need to be looking at how to maximize him, imo.

agree that reaves and stan are better than the dudes we slotted to be rotation guys last year (baze, ellington, ariza), so we're starting from a stronger spot there.

    not super optimistic here.

this is why i want to move russ for long-term salary in the form of three players, at least two of which are playable, plz.

eff that guy as a gm. just undid so much of the lebron signing in the following months. he was a scourge, for real.

i'd reverse it. if we don't have vogel and defensive identity, our big needs to be a shooter/passer.

Yeah I know the popular opinion seems to be shifting to using our mini-MLE on a bigger wing and letting Monk walk, but our roster makeup does legitimately also need a volume scorer like Monk off the bench.

It’s not going to be an easy decision. Like even if OPJ was willing to come to the mini-MLE, I’m not entirely sure he’d be more valuable to us than Monk.

If we can somehow convince him to take the early bird rights small raise over his last year’s minimum contract, that would be huge. But I don’t think that’s in the cards. From the report out today, it’s sounding like the mini-MLE is what he’d consider a hometown discount.
