This what happens when an ICONIC franchise like US goes after someone like LBJ , he opens the door to many of his political attributes and we have to deal with !! 80 percent of lakers fans did not want him in purple and gold .

Stop spamming every thought in your head about this just because the topic came up legitimately that Kyrie is somewhat odd in the head / crazy and this needs to be considered by Lakers if they're interested.

The only ones who keep bringing this flat earth crap are everyone BUT Kyrie. It's been a few years, get the hell over it. We have enough stupid s*** and stupid people yapping non-stop about every f***ing thing. Once in a while it's fun within the conversation buy non-stop yapping is tiresome.

KD will not play with Lebron. His whole life has been derailed because of the criticism in going to Golden State. He wants to win without anyone on his level, whatever that means.

The smoke is getting thick that the Lakers want Kyrie. My guess is the Nets and Lakers have talked and are looking for a 3rd and 4th team where the Nets can get a legit return. Legit turn? Someone who can still keep them in title contention. And worse, someone who will take Westbrook on without much return because Westbrook is a net negative infinity in any trade.

It was insane because you used it to reply to a comment about trusting the media....

The two are not remotely the same....

We used to have a political forum here, but politics always lead to getting personal, because it is a personal matter. Then it bleeds into the basketball forum and ruins it, like it is right now. We’re all Lakers fans here, we don’t need to separate ourselves by politics, just keep it to basketball. This is an unofficial warning because you didn’t know as you’re new. Any more political posts and they will be deleted and actual warnings will be given out.

A new report at ESPN — with Kevin Pelton citing Adrian Wojnarowski — confirms what NBC Sports and others have reported in the past: Bradley Beal will opt out of his current $36.4 million deal to re-sign with the Wizards on a five-year max worth at least $246 million (depending on where next year’s salary cap falls

So, the market says pay a guy 50 mil per for 5 years and know 100% you will never win with him? Interesting thought process.

Doesn’t matter man, just leave the politics out of it. You want to mention Kyrie’s vaccination status based on how it would impact his ability to a actually play, that’s ok, but don’t bring up any political aspects of it. We don’t talk Trump, Biden, Q Anon or any other political thing here. Flat earth isn’t political it’s just dumb, that’s why I brought it up. Again, this is the warning, just leave it be and talk basketball and we can all get along.

Yeah I do believe it’s been several years since Kyrie talked about his flat earth beliefs.

And to add to that, his thoughts had actually evolved. Soon after that first interview, he followed up and basically acted like he was just trolling and trying to make people think. Maybe a bit of a lame cop out due to the backlash, but a far cry from adamantly acting like the earth was really flat.

Then after that, he eventually flat out apologized and seemed pretty self aware discussing how he had been in a conspiracy phase and gone down a YouTube rabbit hole.

Point being, I don’t think Kyrie actually still believes the Earth is flat. So using his comments from 5 years ago as ammo in the debate about whether or not the Lakers should acquire him, doesn’t make sense to me.

The only relevant factors IMO should be on court availability, on court fit, and the cost to acquire him.

On court fit would obviously be great.

On court availability, well vaccination status doesn’t matter anymore. Sure he’s been relatively injury prone, but you could argue that missing so many games this past season may have reduced the wear and tear on him.

So it all comes down to what it would take to get him. MLE would be an absolute no brainer. Russ and no picks, absolute no brainer. Russ and one pick that’s 5 years away, still an easy decision for me.

We are steering away from Basketball when we make these moves and it just annoys me … nothing personal against anybody with different beliefs … we are better than guys like Kyrie and LeBron.. why do we let them run the show .. I am quite embarrassed by that …but sure no problem…we are all lakers fans here

I honestly thought we are staying away from Kyrie but I hope we do

I don’t want handful of culties outside of STAPLES holding signs that says earth is flat and free Kyrie like they did at Kyrie s home games in brook town

I agree with you on Kyrie, I do not want him. I already said why I don’t and I even said bookmark that post for when it blows up. Dude just can’t be relied on, he takes games off for personal reasons that never get revealed, and that’s fine I respect his privacy, but it happens a kind of odd amount. His skill level would say that he loves the game and it’s his main thing, but all his extra stuff off of it conflicts with that and says it’s just a job. Which again, is fine, many ball players play because they’re gifted and to make money, but if that’s your goal first you don’t get money because you’re too high a risk. Your team can’t win it all if you make that much of the teams total salary and can’t be fully depended on, like we could with Kobe. That’s why I don’t get down on LeBron though, because he can be, he went to 8 straight Finals, he won us a title in year 2, dude is basketball first and a top level franchise player, even at 38. But yes I don’t want Kyrie, I would much rather try and trade with the Hornets and turn Russ’ contract into 3 super useful players.

Eliminating the political section only added to the stout leadership in here. After having to deal with the last couple of days, I told everyone in my circles that if anyone gets crazy with this garbage, it's packing the bags and bye bye for me. The inability to compromise has brought us to this lousy predicament. And if people keep blabbering that they care about others yet cant compromise, than your rhetoric is empty. We compromise and respect each other here on LB and there is years of evidence to prove it.

"The definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result."

Segway to the topic at hand with that same thought, do the Lakers keep trying to do the 3 headed star thing and think they can win it all? I mean, I heard the Nets GM a few weeks back. He looked like he wanted nothing to do with Kyrie anymore. Lakers are the only ones who want him and Kyrie wants to play for the Lakers. What do the Lakers do after, should they get him? That will be the real question because Kyrie does everything bad except score and scoring was 3rd on the list of why the Lakers sucked nuts last year. The first two were 1. Russell 2. Westbrook.

My only concern with Kyrie if he comes to LA is will he play 70-75 games a year? In his 12 year career, he's only played 70 games 3 times. It isnt getting better as he gets older.

given that there are some posters here who really can't contain themselves when it comes to politics, i think it'd be a good idea to bring the politics section back so those posters can let everything out there instead of doing it in threads that have to do with basketball

How can any LAKERS fan ignore Kyries baggage ? The dude is a walking political machine because he is a loser In the actual game of basketball. He is a manipulator, he opens his mouth for attention then he hides when gets called out . How would you deal with this issue ? He will be a cancer in locker room …
