That's wild. I wish it would've gone unaddressed/corrected until the draft. He stands up and yells out to correct the ESPN crew during the live broadcast. As we get closer and wait for the next rumor to come through, here's Kevin O'Connor's top 50 prospects https://nbadraft.theringer.com/ 33. ANDREW NEMBHARD 36. CALEB HOUSTAN 37. JUSTIN LEWIS 38. WENDELL MOORE JR 40. DAVID RODDY (Included a few more wings after the news broke of our trade)
https://hoopshype.com/lists/live-aggregate-nba-mock-draft/ here's an aggregated list of who might be around then.
From The Ringer Braun they compare to AC (also Wes and Huerter). Drafting the closest thing to the one who got away. Wouldn't that be something.
beauchamp might drop. i think no way terry gets that far down (i think he's a lot like mikal bridges, tbh). as mike notes, laravia has climbed, too. but the rest of that list should all be there (walker and ellis might go undrafted, if you believe the mocks). anyway, from about the late teens through 40, there's a lot of variance, so getting a pick in there means you might get a steal. edit: reminds me a bit of the year we got THT. he was mocked anywhere from the mid-teens to where we got him. you see some of that this year. double edit: be cool if wendell moore dropped.
It's not as easy to just say give me the best defensive wing; sure, we want a player that has defensive chops, but unless you're elite on that end, it's hard to get any meaningful minutes. Gary Payton, Jr was able to get minutes because he was elite there and did all have the dirty offensively for GS. Again, though, he was menace defensively. Beggars can't be choosers and when you're selecting at our level, you take on a project like THT who has all the physical tools or a skill that is readily translatable to the NBA. We'll see which direction they go in, and I'm glad they got 35. Good work, Rob.
This is the importance of a good draft/scout team, good lord. I gave full confidence in our staff with the 35th pick.
I'm looking forward to Jay Bilas's advanced prognostications of every player picked from 15 to the end of the 2nd round by stating that they are raw, project, with upside. Every single one. Not one bust call from 15 til the end of the draft.
It's all speculation, but I wonder if there is a young wing with size already in the league, that we might like for a trade with that pick. I think the value is around 5-6 million.
Bryce McGowens from Nebraska has huge upside. I’ve personally seen this kid play since he was little. Taller version of Monk IMO
Will we finally get a playable usable player for this year i like it hope ham is the type that wants to play youngins and not SIT EM
Damn that's early. I thought he might go early but wow. Grizz know what they're doing in the draft though, so I trust their draft board
