can't he just opt-in and get traded like chris paul did to get to houston? are russ and kd friends? i can't keep track.

anyway, irving's way better than westbrook, but i think he's just so unreliable. i honestly might pass, even given the obvious upgrade in talent.

IF bkn would take russ for him, i'd route him to the knicks for randle/burks/noel instead of taking kyrie.

even if the lakers had assets to trade, no way in hell would i want kyrie on the team. he'd play 10 games before deciding to sit out the rest of the season to protest something

What the hell's he disgruntled about? He was allowed to play like half a season and ran the other a-hole Harden off plus is coach and GM of the team.

Yes, he can just opt in, and we can trade for him. However, the amount of salary gymnastics we would have to do would be quite a challenge. If Kyrie is intent on coming here, Rob would sell his soul to probably make that happen.

Idk if Russ and KD are friends. Essentially, Brooklyn would only have a one-year problem instead of taking on a 4-year circus with Kyrie. Idk if that's they say they'd look at it, but that's just what it is.

I wouldn't trade any future draft compensation for Kyrie. He's a malcontent. Russ is what he is, but he's available for better or worse, and as I've said, he's only got 1 more year left on his deal so you can part ways with him next season.

I don't know how to feel about this; I know or at least I think I read a report that Kyrie and AD are close. Rob is the type that likes to swing for home runs, though. He'll definitely try to make this materialize.

Makes you wonder what the conversation was like when they met 6 weeks ago or so. I'm sure he has an idea of the framework Sean wants...

    Crazy times..

All I know is that we have no shot of winning the title with Westbrook. Go deep? Possibly. But we can win a title with Kyrie if we get him locked in. Upside is there for that group.

why? kyrie makes 36 if he opts in, which can be dealt straight up for russ's 44 due to the 125% rule, right?

and yes, this would be a very rob thing to do. and he'd add a first, sadly.

Well we’ve gone from Wall to guys like Beal and Irving so I take that as a sign that execs are getting real and true negotiating is happening.
That said, Kyrie is a Tough sell for me. Just don’t know that he wants to play.

Kyrie and Kobe were close though so I guess we’d be hoping he would buy in here.

I guess it’s better than rolling with Russ again but definitely not my favorite idea.

Thanks for the correction on the first part; you're right.

Opting on would create an easier path that. Him opting out.

That said, should we take him opting him as a sign of the team he wants to go to to make it easier for the teams to construct a real that would send him elsewhere?

    Makes me wonder....

i mean, i know who the source is, but is cole anthony worth more than two future firsts (and dort!)? really, bill?

also, they'll take wall but not westbrook? and if they do, no picks, just adjustments on existing picks owed?

finally, a three way that merges all that awfulness? how does wall have more value than westbrook?? that's totally insane.

bill might be big mad soon.

I love the fit especially given what Ham & Kent will bring in offensively.

    That alone gets me excited.

It's just Kyrie, and he's been a problem everywhere he goes.

Call me optimistic, but I think if there's any situation to make him relax and not go mental, it's with LeBron.

i actually don't think there is a situation that fixes kyrie's mental problems. it's the only reason he's ever available, as he's the most talented small guard the league's seen since paul came in (ja may be next). he'd fit great on offense here. like, perfectly. defense would be a concern. availability is a big concern. team chemistry is a big concern.

with westbrook, we get two of the latter three concerns without the offensive boost, so i'm ok with it. i'd still prefer just getting two to three role players for russ, though.
