Who knows? Sheed won't be a 1st or 2nd chair assistant anyway. I don't remember anyone talking about us having a Championship caliber coaching staff(roster either) going into the 19 season. A guy in his 1st year on the job has lead his team to the Finals 4 years in a row now. 3 of them were in their first year as a NBA coach.
On topic..If James and Davis can give us a full season, I believe that if we can land my current wishlist of Young, Warren and another big, (Jones,Javale, Lopez) we are sufficiently strapped up for the upcoming war in the West. Of course Lebron and AD have to ball out, but that's always been the main thing from day one.

I only mentioned Sheed because someone here had said he and Brick were supposed to be tight, so maybe he could help a tiny bit in convincing him a bit more to do what's going to be asked of him. And same with AD, as far as Big Man offensive skills? Whatever.

    Sheed is a **** hire.

AD offensive skills? They just need to utilize him differently and he'll be a top 7 player.

Sheed teaching him new offensive skills? Doubtful. What AD needs is a shooting coach that can help him.

On topic, I do like Taurean Prince @abeer3 as a minimum.

what about Tayshaun Prince. He always seemed to have an assistance coaching demeanor to me.

Next thing you know: "Tayshaun can teach THT how to use his length.

    Good hire.".

Dudz was on our bench last season and finished up this one in the Conference finals as a coach. Just saying

to be clear: my suggestion wasn't necessarily that sheed would be a technical help to AD (though i'm not sure he could offer nothing) but more of how haslem is miami. just a guy who's been around and understands what it's like to be a star in the league over a long period of time.

is it the best use of a bench spot? probably not. but i still haven't seen the other spots. i'm trusting they'll be better/more strategy-oriented/better coaching pedigree.

taurean prince is a big target for me. do you think he'd actually go full vet min? it's possible; he had a slightly down year and may see us as an opportunity like monk had.

…from the rumor mill. (Honestly the Wizards owe us and should do us a solid)

If this rumor is true there isn’t a facepalm big enough. We just saw every team in the playoffs succeed or win with 2 stars max, and depth, incredible depth. You do not try to go the 3 star and 12 minimum route again, we cannot be that stupid. Do everything you can to try to trade Russ for depth, that is a formula for success.

You may be right in general, but AD + Bron + Beal, all healthy, is an excellent fit.

    ???
    Beal/AR
    AR/Beal
    Bron
    AD
    ---
    THT
    Monk
    Dwight
    ???
    ???
    ???

    is quite intriguing.

I definitely prefer building depth but I feel the same about this As I said in convo about Lavine. If the choice is between Beal and minimums or Russ and minimums then I take Beal. Also like the thought of having Beal and AD to build around post LeBron.

I don’t see us making a big move like this but I don’t hate it.

right. that train (balanced roster) has left the station. lebron/AD/beal/mins >>>lebron/AD/russ/mins

    absolutely not happening.

but the same with lillard come, say, december...i can see it...

I'm sure it is true. Dame and Beal were at the top of our board last summer. Neither have been traded elsewhere and neither team is doing particularly well, so why wouldn't we still be interested? We don't have the assets though.

Not gonna happen, BUT...Getting Russ from them and then flipping Russ (+ picks and THT, AR, everything not nailed down) .... back to the Wiz for Beal would be hilarious.

I would much rather have Beal than Russ and always have. I’m sure it’s the same for most here. Just don’t see how or why it happens unless Beal forces the trade somehow. I’d love to see it happen.

had we not done the russ trade, we'd still have a pick and there would be nonstop chatter about us getting lillard this summer for some of the guys we sent for russ.

patience is a virtue. we didn't have it.
