Thanks abeer3! I am not counting on him joning the Lakers (even though that would be great, asuming he's good), it just would be great to finally have a compatriot really making it in the NBA. So far the best Polish BB player in the NBA was frickin Gortat ugh.
nembhard is super intriguing, but it looks like he's already moving up the draft boards. was hoping he'd be our next reaves.
Yeah, I really liked what I was seeing/ reading about him but he had a killer combine and is shooting up the boards
more on williamson. definitely interesting udfa/2nd round buy-in candidate. also, maybe #39 is for sale? https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2022...n-the-2022-nba-draft-a-50-50-proposition.html another tidbit there is cleveland already floating draft and stash for their late pick. this how teams like us get guys like reaves, imo. full rosters and a devaluing of the late draft tiers, compounded by the players at those spots maybe being better served by choosing their landing spot. hopefully, we can pull off some more magic.
Love this mindset now. "He will be 22 at the draft but noise is he's impressing a lot of teams" Like they ignore when kids come out one and done and really young they're most often lacking to a degree with skills and mental development for the game, and more importantly are often skinny and under developed physically for a few more years. Contrarily if you find a kid who has stayed in school more years they will often trend the other way in those areas and may be able to contribute sooner.
Another workout ahead. Already posted a little about Ellis Here's the other guys... Swider Jackson Peterson
it's wild that i get excited about the draft every year when we have no picks. i have irrational confidence in our scouting department.
watched some peterson highlights--looks interesting. needs some bulk, but 6'9" with a shot and some ball skills is worth a look. didn't see whether he has any lateral mobility as a defender, which is probably what makes or breaks his chances as a role player at the next level.
Going to post this in here instead of the Ham thread because the only new news is draft related Woj said Ham is already attending draft workouts. Had to be this one we just had over the weekend because he didn't get the job until Friday. I don't think he's officially signed, because I would expect a contract signing photo op at the very least. So I find that interesting that he's already at a workout when we don't have any picks. Leads me to believe we are very serious about getting into this draft at some point. OR Ham is just that much of a basketball junkie where he saw the workout going on and had to stop and watch. 194 lbs at 6-9 is a little concerning for me. He must be on that Chet diet
