    He's a former player and he's black.

Ham + an offensive assistant + Charles Lee would be an interesting combination.

By all accounts Charles Lee is excellent with analytics, rotations and X and Os. Ham is a clear communicator who holds people accountable on D and knows that side of the ball well. I believe you just need strong offensive concepts to have a more well rounded coaching staff.

I’d still rather lean towards an offensive minded head coach with defensive assistants.

This place is family. Pretty cool how much we've all experienced together, and will likely never meet. Stay safe out there. And what the hell is Monkey Pox, and will it affect our season next year? Stay tuned for "Our Daily Lives" and "As the World Turns" NBA addition.

Why and how do people get paid to write nonsense. In what world is Doc Rivers the best choice?

Plaschke literally knows NOTHING about basketball.

Of the three finalists I prefer Ham. I think he’s the best fit here.

lol historically it's clear Lebron has a preference.. Lue, Jackson, Kidd (who is mixed), Ham etc..

Though I guess we can lean more into the former player thing. He didn't exactly jive with Spoelstra (warmed up to him), Blatt and Walton (who was a former player) :KobeConfused:

It concerns me that Plaschke is advocating for Doc, after a recent interview with Jeanie in which his writing was unusually biased in her favor. I think a lot of us took issue with the substance of that interview in terms of what Jeanie said, but the editorializing Plaschke did in that article to try to paint her in a good light was odd for a journalist who is usually pretty critical of the team. Makes me worried that he’s starting to function as Jeanie’s mouth piece.

Oh Lebron has made several racist comments that came to light, so I doubt don't it a bit. It's just so politically incorrect to just boldly lay it out there like that.

I think players will more naturally respect someone who was a player and has been there/ done that. That's human nature, so I can't fault that attitude. But the racist attitude is a very unattractive quality of his. I'm sure it will get covered more after his playing days are over when that is good press with no downside. Right now, nobody brings that stuff up so the cash cow won't quit producing. It is what it is.

Ham will be a disaster for this veteran team. I’ll copyright the name ham-fisted before we get him and start to struggle :Laugh:Udoka working out wonderfully for Boston has fooled everybody into thinking another unproven rookie coach will have the same results in Lakerland, this environment is different and he will get swallowed whole.

Coaching is a funny thing. You can't get the job because you need experience, but you can only get the experience by getting the job. So eventually teams need to take a chance on someone new. Otherwise you can always go back to the Van Gundys.

hmmm...plaschke for rivers and now SAS for mark jackson/jvg (the latter was a throw-in for credibility).

i think these guys' reps want them in the conversation.

    but i don't, and i'm glad they're not.

    It's over, IMO.

There was a tweet from Woj that basically stated his job isn't in jeopardy.

    We've moved on.

I think we'll hire Ham, but let's see.
