Having an aging superstar is not easy to work around

No way should he be relied up on for 30+ minutes a game, but because he will be and wants to play, he'll break down and we'll have to deal with massive amounts of missing time. Pretty frustrating to know what is coming as a fan, and feel like the team isn't going to properly address it.

It's not like they've been telling Lebron no since he got here.

Mitch sticking around, which I think helps us in a possible Russ move. And they're looking to also get a coach in by the draft... just like us. Seems they're closer to their decision than we are just by looking at the various reports the past couple weeks.

    Can we have both?

Ham as the lead and Stotts as the Offensive Assistant. Come on Jeanie pay up.

Our success rides on AD. Which of these coaches can bring out the best from AD on both ends? That's the guy I hope they choose

This. Cheaping out on Brooks last year as an assistant probably made the year go a little less smooth than it could have. Hire all the best people.

If we want Ham, we might not want to drag our feet. According to Stein, speculation is that MJ isn't sold on MDA.

I want a strong coaching staff regardless of who we hire. This crop (unless Nurse or Snyder shake free) is not strong enough with HC candidates unless you flesh out their staff with strong hires.

Good for Mitch for getting a contract extension to stay with the Hornets

Now I hope he trades Rozier/Hayward for THT/Nunn/Westbrook/Johnson/Gabriel and whatever else they need other than a 1st round pick and Reaves

The Lakers coaching gig is IQ + Big Ego Players Management + Handling Drama of Hollywood.

I don't see small town coaches like Atkinson and Stotts handling the big seat well here. But I would definitely use those guys IQ and wisdom for assistant coaching roles.

ham+one of those two as lead assistant would be the best scenario but dollar store jeanie won't pay up

I'm cool with this; I'm wondering if Ham will bring Charles Lee over as an assistant if he comes...

On a side note, Phil Jackson is so awful on passing on his legacy to next generation. His coaching tree is pathetic. He got the results out of some of the greatest players ever but man he passed on nothing.

There's an expression in life "Leave the place better than you found it." Both Phil and Lebron are power hungry narcissists and are not givers, its not wonder they (Phil as a coach/Lebron as a player) are the absolute worst at empowering people around them. They leave places behind in absolute ruins.

I really don't get the Atkinson inclusion. He doesn't fit with our timeline and as I said earlier, if that's the route we're interested in then just promote Handy.

I can say this with supreme confidence based off what I have read about these coaches; Joey and Jesse Buss are definitely involved in this process.

This is promising, much better than hearing Marc Jackson and Doc are finalist.

Personally I'd want Ham with Stotts as assitant. Don't think Atkinson would want to jump ship to be another assistant.

My gut says: if Ham is hired, he'll bring in Charles Lee who is a tactician on both sides of the ball.

Based off the reports, he has signed off on Ham.

I also think he'd e fine with Stotts.

Atkinson would probably be a curve ball.
