Because people on message boards keep posting his articles and spelling his name all over the place. Same with the ding bat Skip Crapless. Stop posting his s*** and he will go away. It's that simple.

Which makes it even stranger that Jeanie chose him to have a sit down with for her interview. She is a masochist. That's the only possible answer after she continues to go to the Magic well.

That's how I found clublakers and lurked for 5-6 years. Great times, it was such a breath of fresh air. What would it be like today - trading for KAT or something?

honestly, it would be like someone else getting AD from us maybe? or trading for KAT last year--his stature has climbed a lot. people forget that pau was kind of viewed as a failure and his value was at a trough (dallas refused to give up josh howard, chicago refused to give up luol deng). what star player would be a) highly coveted around the league yet b) not so much that a team would give up its 2nd best player and non-allstar for him? it was a weird situation. plus he was still prime age. again, AD might be the best analog. and we have him. which makes me nervous.

We'd have to swing a deal for someone off the radar that instantly helps us. Tough to say who fits that bill right now. Zach Levine? Bradley Beal?

That's a good point. People were doubting Pau at the time.

Donovan Mitchell might be a comp? I don't know. This is an interesting one to think about.

yeah, i thought of beal, too, but the doubt is a big component. i know popovich and folks went nuts, but the market for pau was weak, which was the only reason our package got a shot. those other teams had themselves to blame, imo. not sure who that player would be now, but AD is a good comp because right now, teams would hesitate to move their second-best player for him, which is where pau was. they were dumb then, and they're dumb now.

let's just not be memphis in the sequel.

people freaked out over the pau trade when it happened but it was an easy win-win for both sides. lakers got two titles out of pau and the grizzlies became a yearly playoff contender with marc

people argued that marc wasn't a good asset at the time. but that was bs. he was the spanish league mvp --and other recent players with that pedigree (e.g., scola, iirc) had been quite successful in the nba at that time. people also didn't understand that it cleared a max slot, which they used to sign zbo (again, iirc). that would be like 30 million in salary relief, a blue chip prospect, and a recent 1st rounder who had shown some promise (crittenton--no one knew he would flame out and like, murder, back then).

anyway, not to re-litigate that, but suffice it to say that you just don't want to be the one selling the star in his prime. you basically can't win.

it's possible, but i doubt it. he's on the right side of 30 and has not yet had a major injury that has slowed him in any way. if he has another season like the last two, i'll capitulate on the argument, but right now, i see it as some bad luck.

I think AD is also suffering from Lamar/Gasol- I-finally-won-a-chip-and-am-not-as-hungry-itis.

he averaged 23/10/2blk on 53% shooting last year. all basically right on career averages. his FTAs were down and his three point shot was even worse than normal, which makes up for the couple ppg off prime numbers.

but we do need a real star like devin booker, right?

Devin Booker has a higher all time scoring game than Lebron, and he's younger, so he's clearly the better player.

also got married, so he looked satiated this season, no hunger for the game, nothing and came in overweight. Hopefully being absolutely slaughtered in social media will awaken his desire not to be a laughing stock.
