So, about 4 hours to decide the fate of our franchise for possibly the next 15 years.

He's not there yet, but he'd be physical and body him up all game long. Those chicken legs of Towns would be shivering by the 4th quarter.

    Cousins - 14.7
    Kobe - 25
    WCS (#6) - 2.8
    Clarkson - .9
    Black - .9
    6 cap holds at 500k each - 3 million.

    47.3 total

    LMA is 21-22 at max

We'd be over. And that's not taking into account the guaranteed million of our 27th pick.

So we'd have to sacrifice the 6th pick to get it done.

The strengths we would take him for he's already polished enough with and big enough to demand double teams or the defense will pay, from day one he gets into an NBA game. He won't hit his prime for 6-8 more years and reach full strength until then. For any rookie to come into the league and play significant minutes out of the gate what does "need time to develop like any other prospect" mean? He's not like any prospect currently. He's better and bigger (body wise) on offense now than Tim Duncan was at 19. Duncan said it. Robinson said it. Coach K has said he's never had a better player at his age or something to that effect. Think of all the great players he has coached. Can't talk in generalities about this guy.

So...since this is the goofy time of year and I'm stuck at home. How about cutting out the middle man (and I understand most will not like what I'm about to say, understandably)

LA: Marcus Smart, James Young,#16, BKN 1st rounder 2016

    Bos: Nick Young, #2

Add pieces as needed (2nd rounders, small contracts, et. al)

It's pretty straight forward to be honest. He needs time to develop like any other prospect. I'm not sold he is gonna come in and demand a double team right off the bat, etc etc. And if the scouts really believed that, he probably wouldn't be ranked 2nd or 3rd on people's draft boards.

Actually the scouts really DO believe that. They just believe that Towns will also one day command double teams and will be better defensively as well. Not to mention more versatile with his ability to hit jumpers/play pick and pop.

Most scouts though believe Okafor can and will be a post threat on Day One that should likely command double teams if he gets hot.

Nah. I know the C Bags are high on Smart, but I'll take Okafor over Smart. We can get a James Young-esque player later in the draft and in the East that Brooklyn 1st might not ever be in the lottery meaning 15-30... No thanks!

We'd be able to sign him without having to give up the #27. LMA's max starts at 18.9M. Cap is 67.4. Every penny counts when trying to make a scenario like this work.

The word transcendent was used today and rightfully so to describe Deangelo Russell's passing skills. Okafor is master already of transcendent back to the basket big man skills. Watch the clips. More carefully if need be. He's not just like any other prospect. He's better on offense already at that age than Duncan. You can say it but doesn't mean it applies here. Especially against 2nd stringers and weaker first stringers. They're not going to stupidly over match him so sure they will be smart about it. But when he is in a game look for him to dominate with the match ups they give him. It's who he is, he loves it. Been with a basketball since his diapers.

His games against Utah, Gonzaga, and Wisconsin along with the scouting report posted earlier are giving me doubts but I honestly hope you guys are right.

Exactly. Smart was behind Clarkson on the all rookie team voting. Basically a low-teen pick for #2. Umm.... sounds like a bad idea.
