It isn't hard to search and focus on the next big coach. Teams do it all the time. The main issues is whether Lebron will let him coach while he is here.

yeah, my answer is no, so let's hire his friend on a short-term deal like we did vogel, so we can fire him right when lebron's done and look for a real coach.

I actually think Rondo can fill both roles. He is friendly with LeGM AND he will be a good coach one day.

yeah, don't know about rondo. he's got obvious personality issues, imo. maybe he gets over them and makes it work in a leadership role. but a lot of guys who are savants on the court have a lot of trouble making it work off the court. and i get it--magic and jason kidd are like...why don't you see the angles like i did? um, because you're a savant, bro. that's why most successful former players who become coaches are dudes who were backups/end of bench guys--guys who could see how to succeed without preternatural abilities.

but i'll take him as the coach that keeps lebron from twitter yapping until we can fire them all.

ty lue best coach my a**. my a**.

I like the Rondo idea. He is the AD whisperer.

But my first choice remains this guy:

Get him an offensive coach like Rondo, and defensive coach to set our schemes and let Dudz manage the egos and establish a team culture.

I'd be down for a bench of Rondo, Dudz (coin flip to decide which takes the lead, other can be assistant head coach), Steve Clifford (defensive assistant), and Handy (development).

Jared and Rondo aren't coming, IMO.

The Lakers aren't going to select any top assistant; just look at their history.

Quin is probably our best bet if Utah flames out.

I still like the idea of adding Howard. The timing just isn't right with; he wants the opportunity to coach his son @ Michigan.

But adding him with top assistants such as Stotts or Steve Clifford could sell me.

I would think he's more interested in broadcasting

Rondo has spit on players and thrown jabs in the last couple of years. Don't get me wrong, that ahole might have deserved it, but is he ready for the temperament to be a coach when he can clearly still play? I think he's not ready yet.

No idea who Jensen is. But he's 6-7, might rather have him lace them up to give us some wing help.

That would be hilarious if we traded Russ and then brought on the Russ whisper to coach us. My fear there is it gives the front office pause for us to run it back.

I'm glad Jensen is being considered - haven't heard much about him, but this is the first I hear of an assistant being mentioned. It's a good thing.

And if we're going that route, let's interview Kevin Young, Will Hardy, Will Weaver, or David Adleman, too.

Yeah. I want a real search where we vet assistants too. We know there are some great minds on different staffs out there so I want us to give them a real look.

detail in that story that wasn't clear to me explains why lue has a such a fixation on us: we pulled out of those negotiations. i always thought he did. lol, to see vogel get his ring must just burn his a** daily.

anyway...scott brooks is ominous. imo, he's mostly gotten less than the sum of his rosters' parts. and it might also mean we want to run whatever this was back.

Media definitely framed it that he backed away. I still don’t like how we went about that but yeah, had to sting watching Vogel get that ring. Honestly sting that whole organization given how they constantly try to throw rocks at us.

I don’t want Brooks running the show at all honestly. I thought he made since as an assistant last year but no reason to bring him in if we aren’t keeping Russ. I’d much rather give a new face a shot unless it’s one of the long shots (Snyder or Nurse).

I’ve always liked Atkinson so I’m good with him getting a look as well.
