@therealdeal get embiid as an asset? Trade him to the knicks for the 4th pick since they want a big man, Draft emmanuel! Pipe dreams man. ....

Probably Ding did it willingly to cement his team connection. You scratch my back...

Ding is as bad as Heisler too me right now. Playing with the player we select is like playing with my emotions!

Ding is my favorite Lakers beat writer, and has been for some time. Love his columns, and trust his info. We all know that whoever feeds reporters info has an agenda. In this case, my guess is his Lakers source wanted their interest in Russell pumped up for various reasons. I'm still a huge Ding fan.

Yeah, I'm just overreacting. Ding hasn't broken a story, yet, though. Ramona is the best at 'breaking news' for the Lakers. She thinks the Lakers are going for Okafor. Woj is just ridiculously accurate when it comes to reporting and breaking news infor as well.

That's my take too. If Woj or Ramona reports it I give it more weight.

Would definitely take Embiid as an asset & for his potential. But in any deal with the Sixers, I want our pick back. Now is probably the best time to get it, when we're rumored to be after Cousins/LMA/Love. If we don't pull off any big trades or FA signings, Philly isn't letting go of that pick for anything.

You know what's crazy, though? There are a bunch of solid reporters right now giving conflicting information. Berger, Woj, Amick, Stein. It's insane.

After literally drafting Okafor, is when teams will start making their best pitches and to be honest.. Cousins probably goes at trade deadline because kings though they have no leverage, yet do knowing he's the best center in the league. What's funny that some of y'all ain't thinking about, with the money difference between Okafor and cousins, we can sign a legit starter, give or take almost a ten mill player. That's huge.

This is a straight forward $$/flexibility reason to not do it. While huge it's not as predominant as the reasons not to do it because of who Cousins is as a person however. At this point you can't reshape character and no amount of "potential" can overcome it on in a team sport.

Been gone a bit. OK now we're talking. This would be Mitch the poker player....not Mitch the do an irrational thing with big vs small here. We need a dominant big in the worst way. What if Okafor winds up on a championship contending team and every year makes it his mission to kill us. He could. Throw a Tony Allen or equivalent at Russell. Who do we throw against Okafor?

Right? Part of me is super excited to be off today to keep up with things.

The other part remembers the strained muscles in my back. That part is not so enthused. :(:(
