It's criminal to me that Vogel is the one getting fired but Pelinka and the Rambii remain. Worst possible scenario.

I can only hope you’re right. Funny thing is that isn’t even Frank’s staff, he didn’t get to pick a SINGLE member of his own staff. They just hired guys they liked, Kidd, Handy, Hollins, Penberthy, Fiz, hell even Miles Simon was a leftover from Luke’s staff. A top level coach agreeing to join this s*** show isn’t going to put up with that crap, they should be allowed to pick their entire staff, maybe minus Handy who is a player development coach.

Penberthy and Handy are good development assistants. But the coach should be able to pick their assistants and please no assistants like Fizdale just waiting for the interim job if you fail.

I honestly don’t believe much from the coaches or their reps at this point. I don’t like how we handled Firing Vogel. But I can’t count how many times I’ve heard coaches flatly deny interest in a job only to sign on the dotted line a few weeks later.

If Jeannie opens the wallet they will come despite all our warts. That’s the part that concerns me along with letting them pick their staff.

i believe that snyder (and anyone else) if they're turned off by how we handled vogel all season. just a joke--not the way good organizations work. you think snyder or nurse has some rando from nebulous upper management interfering in his lineup choices, etc.?

i put the chances of nurse coming here near zero, for several reasons, not the least of which that toronto appears to be a top notch organization (in a really nice city, which shouldn't be discounted).

if utah loses in the first round, i'm guessing they don't fight too hard to keep snyder if he wants out, but i think he'd take SA over us for the same reason.

if philly flames out, morey will secretly pray that doc asks to leave, and we'll get him. and we won't be better for it. but at least he's got the clout to deal with the stars, i guess?

Let's not forget we have Lebron and AD. That's super valuable. Any coach in the world would love to coach any of them, that's a career goal.

I just hope that it compensates our terrible management. Really curious to see how Rob handles this offseason. Even if he fails because of Jeanie or Kurt or LeBron/AD, it's bottom line for him, he needs to take responsibility this year, at least because he should be able to say no to bad ideas, otherwise why are we paying him?

Is it? At this stage in Bron's career? Bron has never been easy to coach and that was before he refused to cross half court or play D for 80% of the season. AD has been on the sideline as much as some of the coaches. You think the head coach wants him as an assistant coach?

I think so. Put yourself in their shoes. That's their life's work. If you have the chance to coach one of the GOATs or an unicorn that can dominate the league, you want it. This is their everyday life, spending a season with LeBron by itself is a career moment for 99% of people around the league. It means you're with them everyday, you have a great ceiling and that's better than 10 seasons in Toronto or Utah.

Of course it may not be true to everyone and it's weight is also different depending on the person. But I think it's definitely an argument on our favour. I just hope the rest doesn't blow it

If I really had to call it now, I'd honestly guess from my least favorite choices, Fiz or Doc. Maybe a former player. Snyder was always a long shot. Nurse is an even longer shot and I still lean heavily toward the team putting that rumor out there in a poor attempt to soften the blow when announce Fiz or someone else disappointing.

It really comes down to how much we are willing to spend (these guys very much do have a price no matter what they say) and the upper management involvement which I agree, no good coach is going to want to deal with.

But if, and yes its a humongous if, we get out of our own way, open the wallet and completely hand the keys of the car to a guy, then yeah, I think you could sell a big fish on being the next great laker coach.

    At least I hope. lol

Mark Jackson built the new era of the Warriors that Kerr continued and brought it to a new level right?
    What's wrong with him?
