It's a great show . Did Jeanie tell the show writers to describe/"paint" Jerry West this way just to piss him off because of their current "feud" ? Was Magic that much of an a****** ?
jeanie has nothing to do with this show. apparently she's working on a separate series about the lakers with magic winning time is based on the book by jeff pearlman about the showtime lakers
Sigh. It's a show people. Relax!!! I like Jerry more because of it and I already loved Jerry. Jerry was a maniac and loved to win. That's admirable.
ryan west is a scout with the pistons now? what happened? wasn't too long ago i thought he'd soon be landing a GM gig
I think the show is pretty overrated so far honestly. It’s way over the top and the writing is making these real folks almost like caricatures of themselves. The Jerry West portrayal is quite obnoxious and sour. I’m watching the show to see what the fuss is but to me it falls into the classic trap of biopics: the artistic license they take with the story to make it more “entertaining” is generally less so than the actual facts and true story. You don’t need to make up an apocryphal version of the real tale with fictitious scenes like that dumb one on one game between Magic and Norm at Donald Sterling’s house of all places. Just stick with the real things that happened and how they happened. Fact is often more fantastic and wild than fiction. In the case of the Showtime Lakers I think it’s especially true. I’m really looking forward to the Magic Johnson doc and the Lakers history series that are in the works. This one is pretty silly.
this is not Docu series its based on a book, written in that's persons perspective, plus it's supposed to be a comedy
They already did. Calling Pat Riley a flamer, hahahaha. Chick was known to be abrasive. I remember him taking callers on Lakers Live and he was straight up rude to the dumb callers.
Even though I’m critical of the series I have to say that the Adrien Brody casting as Riles is brilliant. He’s been the highlight so far for me. When he cuts himself taking the chainsaw to the ivy roots and then completely destroys the garage - that was pure Riley. Temper temper!
Just ditched DirecTV for D-Stream (same company but like $70 cheaper) plus I get HBO Max free 3 months and will probably keep. Finally will be able to watch this …. wooot wooot.
