these are counter-leaks, btw. just making sure the press is repeatedly reminded that lebron engineered the stuff he's complaining about. i like it. i don't like that it's rambis doing it, but the message is good, imo. lebron is huge, but not bigger than the lakers. and while he delivered us, i don't think his next team will deliver him another ring. hence the flailing.

Yeah I’m fine with Linda and her relationship with Jeannie. But Kurt is a doofus. Loved him as a player but not really since. I don’t like how he put Vogel on notice after dealing him a losing hand. Bad mojo. I cringe to think of who he will replace him with.

I like Jeanie and I’ve been rooting for her all along. She did a great thing getting rid of her brother and taking the reigns of the organization. I applaud that she did that and I always thought the apple didn’t fall far from the tree with her and her dad. I also like that she is one of the very few female owners in major sports and that she delivered a championship. There are many against her in the old boys network and I like that she proved them wrong.

But I think she put too much trust in the Rambii. I believe it might have been a stop gap measure since Magic turned jerk on her. But now it has gone a bit too far, especially with Kurt who is kind of a fool and should not have so much power. And Rob is turning out to be a trash GM.

What's insane is she has everything @ her disposal and the brightest minds around her to right the ship.

She's not reaching out. It's crazy.

I think the family drama started it all and the Magic mess didn't help. She leans solely on friends she trusts 100%, regardless of their qualifications, ability, or knowledge. I'm all for her utilizing them as a sounding board, but there is no scenario in which Kurt Rambis should have any more sway on the current Lakers decisions than Del Harris or Mark Madsen.

She needs to grow her NBA friend circle and find qualified NBA people she can turn to for advice or guidance. If she wasn't with Jay Mohr, she could talk to Phil. Phil was an awful GM but I would trust anything he told Jeanie one zillion times more than Kurt freaking Rambis.

Lakers are a drama, viral, plague. They had drama with the two best people in the history of their position in Phil Jackson and Jerry West. They have drama with dolts like the Rambis's.

This is who they are. At least they still win titles, unlike all the other geniuses around the league who haven't won jack s*** but everyone loves to kiss their a** because of spending money and draft picks all over the place.

One of the shots Magic took at Pelinka on his way out, I think, with the backstabbing allegations (though likely just Rob’s frustrations voiced over not being able to get things done in a timely manner he was grinding on with Magic unavailable so often with his other businesses) …. was Magic “counseling” Jeanie to make certain she had people around her she “could trust”.

After all the Lebron/Klutch noise this past weekend, I don’t think the “downfall of Lakers” is determined by what Lebron does. I thank him for getting us the championship but he is responsible for this s***ty season. I don’t mind cutting ties with him, we’ll probably be s***ty again but Lebron can’t carry a team to a ring by himself anymore.

The bigger issue here is still the Rambii, each time they’ve been brought up this season shows them having more and more power within the organization. We’re going to be stuck in mediocrity or worse for a long time if Jeanie won’t employ the best people to run this organization. We won’t be able to get the best from Rob/Vogel or their replacements if Rambii are constantly over their shoulders.

Theres been a lot of finger pointing this season, I’m waiting for Jeanie’s turn. She needs to do something about the direction this team is headed in.

I can’t lie, I’m a homer who could probably hypothetically do some mental gymnastics to convince myself that the Rambii were okay … IF they came out and publicly communicated a long term plan for the franchise that I could believe in.

But all this “shadow GM” BS is an absolute embarrassment. If you’re not willing to define your role and communicate to the fans, I can not stand behind that cowardice at all. I will assume the worst and have no issues with you taking the scapegoat mantle.

I’d rather give the keys of the franchise to Klutch then let the Rambii pull the strings from the shadows with no accountability.

dark days are ahead for as long as jeanie owns the team

combine that with kurt rambis calling the shots and you have one hell of a disaster. like i've said before, lebron coming to the lakers simply masked all that was wrong with the organization prior to his arrival. this season it's been right back to the nightmare that the 2010s were

    Hahahahahahahaha.

We've become a piece of s*** organization ever since Dr. Buss passed. Jenny's alleged control and resurgence was fictional and should be attributed to Bron. Rest of her decisions, including Magic fiasco, Rambii is horrendous.

More and more I am starting to think that Mitch was lucky to get out in time.

And now, when he is one leg out of the door, the s*** starts to come in through the cracks.

I am not sure how I feel about 20 years (10 before and 10 after, at least) of s*** and embarassment for 1 title. Probably not good.

when the alternative was 20 consecutive years of crap? it's not like lebron not coming meant the buss family was going to sell.

With the alternative being 20 years of 4 - 6th seed, sometimes getting to ECF semis... and a team I can actually root for.

not possible. the 10 years of suckage already existed, and we weren't on the path to a 4-6 seed with what we had. honestly, if we can get AD right and spend wisely post-lebron, we should be a 4-6 seed.

and again, this place would go bananas if we became the blazers/nuggets/jazz. i'd be ok with it, but this forum would be inhospitable to that, imo.

I feel that's an extremely accurate description of what is going on there. Hope I'm wrong, but... I don't think so.

the organization refuses to adapt. everyone pinned that on mitch and jim, but it's just generally true. hiring rob was a positive sign to me in that the former agent route was at least something different than what we've done. and it paid dividends. but the amorphous management structure is a relic that causes more problems than is warranted by the "good vibes" feel of a collaborative management team.

what's rambis doing addressing the coaching staff directly about in-game strategy during the season? does this happen elsewhere? sounds like a rob sarver, james dolan type organization.

I meant, conceptually. But yeah... it's gonna suck big time either way. Worst thing is -- we don't have the pics to root for, this time. AR is the closest we have and he's gonna be in Detroit next year.
