We'll have to play him and DJ 15 minutes each now. Or simply get some G-league guys, who knows... we might find a gem there.

This would be the smartest way to go about having a productive rest of the season. With AD going down, we should be looking ahead to prospects for next season.

it wont be same, it might be worse, the cheap vet signings that worked out like melo n monk probably move on to better situation. while the bench warmers will go away we'll only have cap to sign more of these bench warmers... im 90% sure westbrick is either back or gets bought out, teams are trying to screw us over in any russ trade

it could be worse, but i think it could be better, even with the principals still in place. people aren't appreciating how poorly everything broke this year.

I’m looking over the list of 2022 free agents this summer and I think the following players would be open to take the league minimum to join us (keeping into consideration we stink too, so we also aren’t that appealing to ring chaser vets willing to take a pay cut):

    - Carmelo, he’s played way above value than a vet minimum player, and it’s not about the money for him. He either comes back or joins Phoenix I bet.
    - Gary Harris, he’s in his late 20s and has had a couple of bad seasons. He would see joining the Lakers appealing because the Lakers always has a lot of exposure and if he plays well, he lines him up for a bigger long term contract. Similar to Malik Monk signing...
    - Taurean Prince, a real SF/PF with size that can 3 and D. Has been quiet the past few seasons but even as recent as the past 2 weeks has had some really nice games for the Timberwolves.
    - Javale McGee, yup..... who can’t see him entertaining coming back for the minimum?
    - Markieff Morris, I can also see him coming back for the minimum. I thought it was weird we didn’t try to bring him back but why wouldn’t we want a PF/small ball center who’s tough and can shoot the 3?
    - Otto Porter Jr., I really wanted the Lakers to sign him this past summer and he took $3 mil from the Warriors. We probably can’t get him for the minimum but we might be able to get him for part of the MLE.

Wishful thinking that we get everyone on that list for the minimum this summer but if we do... our depth chart would be:

    Westbrook/Nunn
    THT/Harris/Reaves
    Porter Jr/Prince/Stanley Johnson
    LeBron/Melo/Markieff
    AD/McGee

That leaves 2 roster spots where I would rather take a flier on a G League allstar or another undrafted rookie. The scouting department has proven themselves over the years and I would much rather do that instead of signing 37 year olds.

The sad thing is this lineup would be better by simply subtracting Westbrook and replacing him with someone like Patty Mills

I was dumbfounded when Rob didn’t go after Otto Porter Jr. this past summer. He’s looked solid in the three non Lakers games I’ve watched of the Dubbs.

Potter Jr said that Golden State was the team he wanted to play for all along. I guess he sees himself as replacing Green one day. I doubt he signs somewhere else in free agency. Kief is toast, he was toast here last season. Frank for some reason doesn't seem to value Javale that much.

yeah, we were after him, gay, and mills. i think gay got more cash than we expected, and the other two just chose other teams.
