The point is you don't make trades for guys owed that kind of money, without intending on seeing it through in the first place Cookie. Very few guys can be moved with an opt out clause like his. We knew that from the beginning, so talking about what team will be willing to trade for him is rather meaningless. This is why I say this Russ trade stuff has always been a bunch of noise. The prudent thing to do is play it out, and put him out there with the two guys that asked for him. They have been MIA for large chunks of the season, and are the root cause of our issues IMO. However they are both healthy now, so is Russ. Playing them makes the most sense, if the coach can't can't figure out what to do with them, let him go find some other team to coach, that has a roster full of "his type of players". I assumed that Westbrook intended to come here and extend at a lower salary after the season. I also assumed that Lebron was going to do something similar next summer, which would ease our salary situation and maybe allow us to snag another young piece to add to the team. At the end of the day The trio playing together was envisioned when that trade was made, it hasn't happened much at all this season. I just don't see Vogel and Russ making up, AND I don't think Lebron and AD are all in on Vogel in the first place. I don't want to trade Tucker and a pick just to be trying something either. Play it out...with or most likely without Vogel. That's my take.
