I don't think Wizards have 3 roster spots open

The market is weird this year. Portland made really awful AWFUL trades. Pacers and Kings not really sure what they're doing.
    We should definitely exploit that.

Dame for Russ. I would send that IM. Who knows right?
But yeah, I would totally be active in the market trying to pull something that takes us out of this misery.

I don't buy trading THT for whoever. We have a bad roster, that really doesn't work. Until we get the core organized again with at least a big and a strong forward, or 2, and get rid of Russ, the ceiling is pretty low for this team.
Our best shot is the play-in, which even if we pass it, it's only to face Phoenix or the Warriors who would destroy us.
If we make trades, it's mostly to improve the future of the franchise, we can't make a trade thinking in the impact of this season, we have to think beyond

Haha we’re going to end up with Thompson and Thaddeus Old.

While we're at it, we should target Millsap as well. Hell, why not? He's spry.

Gary Harris would be a very good add. Move Bradley to the bench, aggressive defender with more size and atheliticism, can hit a corner 3.

honestly, if we offload two useless vets (baze, dj), and grab those two in the buyout market, that's my dream deadline scenario.

way better than executing basically any trade i've seen floated.

I'd settle for Lebron and AD at 100 percent for the rest of the season and the playoffs, over any trade.

chances of those two staying at 100% for the rest of the season is slim to none

roster is too flawed for a playoff run anyways. the only reason they'll probably sneak into the play-in game is because all the other teams under them are awful

How does selling off all their assets for a bunch of players that’ll take a few years to develop into solid role players and future protected picks signal that their looking to pursue high end talent now?

Are they not aware that Dame is that high end talent that everyone is watching to ask out of their situation???

If we MUST trade for someone like Gordon, Ross or Richardson I'd try to go after Ross and try to squeeze Bamba from Orlando as well.

Maybe they think they have the magic combo of those assets now to trade for a star or two? I don't see it. If that path was there then the Clipps or Pelicans would've taken it. They better not be dumb enough to try selling Dame on them being a potential player in free agency. Last time I can think of they really hit big in an off-season was that 00 team (mostly aged vets though). No one is signing with a Portland team with a happy Dame. With a unhappy Dame who might demand a trade the second he finally throws in the towel... forget about it. not one star will even meet with them.

It's simple. He already did. Privately. So as to not tank value for all...

Imagine having to hope on a star to get decent buyout candidates, only a season and a half removed from a Championship, just so you can maybe eek into the playoffs because your GM failed so hard.

Portland may be dumb enough to do it, I’m not so sure New York is.

Lakers relatively stayed healthy like 3 times in the last 12 seasons .

At least having a bad roster makes the injuries a lot less frustrating than last season.

Overall the whole league can't stay healthy since the bubble ended , NBA players being available to play appear to be a miracle these days and I'm not talking about COVID protocols.

But that's the odd part. McCollum was a great piece to trade for some other superstar. Even Powell or Covington were interesting in that regarding depending on the other team.

It just doesn't make sense, in any angle possible
