Seems like several teams have over extended themselves. Who is projected to have a massive payroll in 2023-2024? We should look at those teams as possible destinations for Westbrook. Miami, Golden State, and Denver are three teams that team that comes to mind.

denver's the only one whose management might not be all-in. i was kidding about jokic, but i do wonder if some of the tides might be turning in terms of roster costs.

Denver made a lot of iffy extensions (Porter, Murray)…

But does anyone actually want Murray or Porter signed for 4 years at the max? They were mistakes for Denver, they’d be mistakes for us.

if I can get either one for Westbrook, I would take the risk.

Both were on the brink of being all stars before the injuries hit. It’s a risk I would take considering how both are also under 25. Porter worries me more though, recurring back issues while he’s so young is scary. I’m more confident in Murray returning from torn acl as it seems players return from that far better than they did 20 years ago.

I wouldn’t touch Porter either. Back problems and Basketball Players are bad news.
Murray is an elite PG when healthy. I would be excited to get him.

He’s going to feel some serious heat from different directions if he can’t pull a massive rabbit out of a hat this summer.

well, if he survives he will remember that doing what Lebron wanted him to do, only left him in a position to fail, not to succeed. If it works, Lebron was a genius but when it fails, it will fail due to Rob. Harsh reality.

The Harden drama is always good popcorn material

    From Woj's ESPN article:

That's a fantastic exchange. Wish I could've seen Morey's face before Marks hung up.

That's been their only direct convo in the past month. A lot can change, especially if they're feeling Harden might bolt this summer and is reportedly unhappy there. That plus their current losing skid might put some pressure on that.

As much as I hate Harden, I'd be less than thrilled there too with the Kyrie situation. If I'm Marks, I look to move Kyrie before Harden. The Beard has at least been available and has played in more games than the other two (44 vs. 36 and 12)

Rob doesn't control a player's health, neither does Frank. I keep saying that there isn't any moves, that we could have made, to overcome AD and Lebron missing all this time. When it comes to catering to Lebron's wishes and all of that, it would be one thing, if Lebron and AD had been on the court for most of this season. Then an analysis of what worked and what didn't, could be truly made. Now...it's all scramble...just wing it and win games...figure it out as we go along. Even that scenario is dependent on Lebron and AD finishing the season together! At this point for me, I'm pointing the finger at Lebron and AD, I have zero problems with trying to get you the guys you want to play with. However I expect YOU to be out there on the court with them in order to make what you asked me to do work. They have failed to deliver on their part thus far, the main thing is always the main thing to me, the Lakers are Lebron James and Anthony Davis, the supporting cast may come and go, but more importantly, the headliners need to be on the stage.

I doubt any big moves are coming, however this is the NBA, you never know. I wouldn't be shocked though, if we dangled a future 1st rd pick to somebody in order to dump Dj, Baze and maybe Dwight too. It would have to be for a younger big IMO, we don't need any more guards. I have no idea who that guy would be at the moment.

that's a very interesting situation. there's a ton of contradictory info out there, but a lot of smoke that harden's people are trying to get him moved, and that if he isn't moved this week, they're arranging a back door forced S&T like the one that got cp to houston. i wouldn't be at all surprised if he's moved to philly now just to get it over with, as that seems like where he's trying to get. i honestly wouldn't rule out him moving to the clips for george, either.

    Stein's latest...

Knicks popped up as an option for CJ McCollum

Pelicans could look to be Hart-less

Keep an eye on OKC and their money

Raptors are looking to make a similar deal with Dragic that the Cavs just made involving Robio
