The Eagle release may turn out to be one move she would like a do over on in the future. (like later this year if the present hasn’t sunk in yet). Spoken from the vantage point of one who would have not spent so much time watching the riveting Big Bear nest sitting otherwise.

I’d like to give this article a bump…

“But when you have a player like LeBron James on your team, you gotta go for it. You gotta use that opportunity to win, so we’ll manage the cap just like every other team in the league has to do.”

Originally my understanding from that is that Jeanie will be going all in to win. BUT now seeing what transpired in the offseason and the Bradley addition, the part of managing the cap stands out. Thats exactly what Pelinka did this off season, they managed the hell out of the cap to avoid a big payroll but in the process they really hindered the chances of contending.

Going all in doesn’t look like cheaping out on a big piece in Caruso. Going all in is fixing the glaring hole at the wing thats been there for the last 3 seasons.

Right, using Schroder to get literally anything and retaining Caruso is what going all in means. Things would be different now had we done both.

Wow. How I hate this team. Let me count the ways. Not a lot of hustle or urgency, esp. on D. Telegraphing passes, not catching passes, not shooting 3s well, getting killed on the offensive boards every damned game. Did I mention lousy-assed D? The Nugs shot the lights out from 3, but you know what? How about at least getting a damned HAND up?

The I-Don't-Really-Care-Defense is what galls me the most. I hate this team. They're going nowhere. If they make the play-in they deserve to get killed. Hell: even if they win the play-in and "make the playoffs" any GOOD team will fry their a****. Why do I say that? Uhh...maybe because this Lakers teams doesn't beat GOOD teams. And in a series? Just. Forget. About. It.

And as much as I've always liked Russ's fire and emotional intensity, he's looking like a $44 mil BUST going into the 2nd 41 games. He's lost it.

This team is too old, too well-fed, has been PAID long ago, and isn't hungry. I hate this effing team.

I do like almost all of the individuals on the team. I just hate them playing as a "team." They suck. 5 Hall of Famers and they effing SUCK!

Did I mention they SUCK on D and at this point aren't going to get any better at it? Oh, I did? Well, it bears repeating, and y'all know it.

(I apologize to ya'll for the ranting...)

And you know what? So they beat the crap out of...some young, bad team, like the Blazers. I don't care. I won't jump up and down and get on this board and say, "Now here we come! We've turned a corner!" Because we haven't. I watch 'em play the GOOD teams and they've won, what? 3 games this year against good teams? OKC beat the Lakers what? Twice?

Can't wait for AD to come back. I hope he gets in some good games before he gets hurt again, because let's face it: he will get hurt. Again. (He's sofffffft! Shhhhh!)

And has his picture in the latest edition of Webster's under "injury-prone."

This team is infuriating. And, years from now, when the stories are told: anecdotal evidence that Lebron was the GM for this incarnation of the Lakers? I took it with a grain of salt. I thought that narrative was a tad over the top. 'Melo gave an interview and said it, but with what level of hyperbole? But if it's true...

I thought "Lebron and AD were the true GMs in the off-season" was hype. Now I can see it. Lebron seems to be playing like he needs to make good on it. He's amazing at his age. But Pelinka and Jeannie should be ashamed. I've been a Lakers fan since 1971, and I'm ashamed.

But holy s***e 'n onions: how much easier it would've been to re-sign AC and KCP, etc...guys who played D, hustled, had good chemistry with the team. etc, etc, eteffingcetera.

    Correct!!

I am not a fan who is easily fed up, but I am pretty much checking out. This team is going no where and it is time to gut the team, break it up and try again.

Love Jeanie, but you can’t run the Lakers cheap around the margins, this isn’t a small town franchise, it’s the greatest franchise in the history of basketball. If she doesn’t want to pay to keep it running like that I’m pretty some someone out there would give her a few billion dollars to take it off her hands.

That was a very disappointing loss to a team barely in front of us in the standings.

people should be upset and angry

nobody in that team should sleep well

that’s the kind of game somebody gets fired for

jeanie and the rest of the surviving buss family are incompetent as hell, but jerry really needs to let this go

i get that he was unhappy with being underpaid all those years and that he never got along with phil, but we're talking over 20 years ago since he left the organization. and it seems like it's only since he joined the JV team that he keeps opening his mouth about the lakers. it's like a guy who can't get over his ex

most things i've read about him seem to paint him as pretty unhappy guy in general. i'm not sure what could be done to please him. i think he likes being upset.
