yeah there's no point in trading THT or reaves. this team has a lot of issues and they won't be solved by acquiring gary trent or myles turner

if anyone's dealt, it better be westbrook

trent's pretty young, too. and it's not like turner and grant are geezers by any stretch.

but as i've said repeatedly, we better not move THT for covington or thad young or something. both fine players, but just not the right move when you're so far out of contention.

Agree, unless they are for impact players.

Honestly, this season might be done.

I would make changes during the summer.

i think it's done; i said a couple pages ago that any trades made need to be with an eye towards next year. no win-now trades.

so THT is less valuable than a late first right now. guessing we'll have to stand pat.

Right. That deal gives us an idea of his value.

but it also removes one rumored potential trade for Grant off the table.

feels like there's a bit of a race between our desperation and nunn's chance to get on the court. you could tell vogel really wants to get a look at him, probably because he has to be included in any substantial trade package.

Worst part of the Westbrook thing for me is it just came out of nowhere. We were all arguing about Hield, Harrison Barnes, Joe Ingles, etc and then - bam. We made literally the worst trade we could’ve made.

I agree. Which I kind of hate because I actually like what I saw of Nunn. He just isn’t a savior so he will probably be sacrificed.

As tough as it is to swallow another disappointing season, I don’t want another knee jerk move. Just digs us into a bigger long term hole.

right. it's possible that nunn looks really good in the second half, likes it here, and we can re-up him and make him part of the squad going forward. imagine knowing that half the roster might return next year! guys may actually know the plays and coverages and stuff. four of them (monk, nunn, THT, reaves--maybe 5 if we like stan and he likes it here) wouldn't even be 1000 years old. imagine it!

I don’t know if the Reddish deal tells us that much about THT’s value.

If THT was a centerpiece in our alleged discussions with Atlanta, I believe the Hawks would have had to sent out another player or two to make salaries work. Given our roster is currently full, that would immediately make things very difficult.

Salary matching and roster spot considerations do not seem as complicated in a potential framework for a THT for Grant or Turner deal.

Although to be fair… I do think those are pipe anyways.

I’m preparing us to sit pat at the trade deadline. No trades of substance, at best we maybe find a partner to dump Deandre or Bazemore to and open up a spot for the buyout market.

Apparently in the Athletic’s article about the Reddish trade, they did mention that our offer was 2 second round picks.

No mention of THT or a first.

We throwing the towel in and start rebuilding for next year? Is there any hope for them coming together this year?

I know the answer, just want to see what everyone is thinking.

To clarify I didn’t necessarily think he was a part of our offer. I was more referring to what we might expect in return if we did try to deal him. I think @abeer3 was too

I’m always hopeful but the writing seems to be on the wall.
