thought stan's reflections on his own journey should be required reading for those down on THT right now.
@Toklat PM @lakerjones . I think it was $30 a season but he set the price on that. You even get links direct to your email where you can buy all of Avery’s gear replicas, etc. Very cool.
Well we have 3 official … that’s a good start LJ. Maybe if we drop the fee to $15 we can really fill out the membership and have Avery’s highlights get togethers for So Cal members …. rotating the hosting?
At the moment this is more theory than results, most of his swiping results in fouls or getting beat from being in a bad position. To bring it back to Bradley, if you watch him, he is quite controlled and very rarely goes for a steal unless it's a gimme. THT has a lot to learn on the defensive end - but he is young and has time.
Back to Bradley: his ability to hit the 3 probably meant the end of Rondo. Bradley was an last minute offseason pickup and I'm sure the plan was for Rondo initially to be that guy who could defend and hopefully hit some bubble Rondo 3's. Bradley just outplayed him in terms of defense and shooting. AB is nowhere near the passer that Rondo is but considering their about the same size and would get the same defensive assignments, once these bigger wing defenders starting showing up it look easy in retrospect that AB's consistent good play meant Rondo was expendable
Really solid game with his 14 points. Big mid- range J late to help secure the win. Some good pressure on the ball, resulting in 4 steals.
I thought him stepping up big in the 4th quarter was the only reason the Lakers won. He had another layup off a cut or board I don't remember along with the defense and the jumper you mentioned
I like Avery’s shooting motion too. It’s a classic motion and clean and he gets nice elevation. He’s still looking pretty quick to me getting into the ball handler’s space close and personal without a lot of fouling. AB’s playing really well these days.
I think the coaching staff needs to allow AB to hold a mandatory film session to show his teammates how to properly cut to the basket when off ball. Most of these guys just stand around a ball watch.
How are we liking AB now? LTLakerfan, Toklat and I still have plenty of room in the AB fan club if you want to join us, lol.
Maybe that's part of the complicated issue the Lakers are having. Do they not guarantee him, and do 10 day contracts for awhile to delay that decision on him, Stanley, and any potential moves that may cause roster complications?
