With the way this team gives minimal effort on D, they have zero chance of beating anyone in a series this year.
If Russ can’t be moved this summer, we will have no way to fill out a roster, again.
LeBron will be 38 next season. He’s not a machine, he’s still a human and us fans can’t expect him to be the best player on a Championship Team forever.
    I’m just being realistic.
That being said, he’s not going to be traded.

Interested to see how we approach the trade deadline and buyout market.

We have some holes to fill.

Would be nice if we could add more lengthy, defensive minded players.

the buyout that I was looking forward to the most was Kevin Love and that looks like it's not happening anymore since the Cavs are probably going to make the playoffs.

We need serious help on defense, and he doesn’t really provide that.

once ariza and reaves are healthy, it'll be interesting to see if anything improves on the defensive end with johnson now on board

We should see a massive upgrade on that end.

When is Grant back? In Feb?

I'm really thinking Lakers make that move.

So who gets cut from this team? As is, when Nunn returns we need to cut someone since we picked up Bradley. We'll also need to cut more if we plan on keeping any of our 10-days for the season. That will have luxury tax implications so we might cheap out and let the 10-days just expire.

I'd imagine DJ and Bazemore would be the most likely to get cut right now to Keep AB and Stanley.

Bradley fit into our last opening on the roster so negatory on that train of thought …. I “believe”. ;) But he is “non guaranteed”.

As you said, there's no reason to play Baze at all and DJ is so useful that Bron is playing the 5 right now, when AD is out. Don't get me wrong, they are nice guys and good teammates, but we have no space for their skill sets on this roster. We need Nunn to use him in trade when the time comes. We need Johnson because he's a legit wing who can defend. And realistically, we need another versatile wing. That would finally be a balanced roster. Not perfectly balanced, because we'd still need a young athletic, mobile center... but you can't have everything I guess.

Basically, we'd have Russ who is not a great fit, but plays quite well and doesn't miss games. You have Ellington (shooting), Monk (versatile offense), Bradley (defense & low volume shooting) and Reaves (shooter/defender).
On the wing, you have Ariza and Johnson (defense, some shooting, good size); Bron (primary playmaker/scorer, great size), Melo (shooting, good size).
Finally, you have AD (scorer/defender) and Dwight (defense, rebounding, limited minutes).

So, THT (nice potential, not a great fit), Baze (undersized), Nunn (hasn't played or practiced much) could be used in a trade for another wing or a young big. DJ likely gets cut.

That's a much better roster with clearly defined roles.

Yes, you are right, he took our 15th spot. The reason I thought someone would be cut is because of the luxury tax implications if we are to keep him. Maybe only 1 player will be cut.

Boom! That’s it. And the THT Baze Nunn trade ideally is for a 2 way wing like Grant. NOT another guard!!!

After screwing the pooch once already horribly in the off season with the organization’s version of “All In” for this championship window with LeBron, and letting AC walk …. I would think they will not repeat it with the lower penalty tax implications from shuffling vet minimum signings.
