You mean with him leaving the Lakers by choice to GM in Memphis instead of his beloved Lakers?

To go along with with Fish was an “elite” pure point guard but Pau Gasol was not an elite big man …. just lucky to have come to the Lakers.
Otherwise no one would have even known who he was.

Followed this morning with he only came to the Lakers because of Jerry West and would not have chosen to himself because Kobe was here.

Wow man the “hits” just keep on coming … you’re on a roll these past 2 days. Brilliant take after brilliant take.

Jerry west was the GM of MEMPHIS GRIZZ that yr and that’s how he gave LAKERS PG for Kwami brown . Nobody else in Memphis would made that trade

pS. Give me a call WHEN Pau gets into HOF … I have a strong feeling my phone will never ring .

You’re incredible with yet another brilliant take. Everyone on this board wants that phone number I would imagine if you’re stating it as another whack “fact”.

BTW it was Chris Wallace who was GM when Pau was traded. Like the rest of your recent 2 day run.

Pau will absolutely get into the hall of fame. It’s not even a question given his NBA and international career.

lol @ pau not getting into the HOF. do you think the lakers would be retiring his # if there was a chance he wouldn't get in? every player who has had their number retired by the lakers is in the HOF

He was freaking rookie of the year and already an all star who had taken Memphis to the playoffs multiple times but they didn’t have enough else to go far there.

This is pretty funny, the effort in these clips is embarrassing

How many more ways can we lose in games we should win? The effort overall from our players is pathetic. They will end up firing Vogel but it won’t matter. There maybe a honeymoon phase with a new coach but it’s the players themselves that are the main problem. Vogel has his faults and some of his lineups are whack but you can’t make players give effort if they don’t want to. Sure he could bench LeBron, AD and such but that’s a sure way to get fired.

I was happier cheering for the kids and losing every game. At least I could hope to see progress and development. We have a bunch of old geezers that are only going to be older next year. The 1 young guy is AD of the big three and he might as well be older than LeBron. He certainly plays that way in stretches. We have some talent, so it’s a mystery why these guys are so bad. I’m so tired of hearing fake crap from our stars mouths and then seeing the exact opposite on the court. Show me, don’t tell me. I’m losing interest in this team and I’ve never felt that way about another Laker squad even in the dark years.

Pau would get into the HOF just because of what he did with his national team.

yeah, your stars are just ushering people to the basket left and right. but sure; let's scheme our way out of it like tyronn lue would.

AD and lebron wanted a third star because they thought it meant they could take, like, the whole season off and just wake up for the playoffs. this has never worked this way.

At this point, I would be happy if we traded BOTH LeGM and AD. I’m disgusted with their attitudes.
(I know it’s not going to happen)

This thread is gonna be miles long by the end of the season. People complain about effort when I just see a fundamentally mediocre team.

Somewhere out there in the dark “Meat” is probably enjoying all this as he roots for Harden and the Nets.

no. unlike my friend cookie, i don't yearn for the days when i squinted hard and hoped ingram would be a foundational piece. this isn't fun, but i think the FO learned some valuable lessons.

    porque no los dos?

i see a team that should have a record similar to utah's if they cared about playing. is that great? no. but the league is kind of weak right now, and that gives you a puncher's chance.

plenty of us knew there were serious flaws in the team construction, but i don't think any of us knew that they'd pack it in from the opening tip. that's what the whining's about.

Effort has absolutely been a problem particularly against the really bad teams. Even the players have conceded that.

right--when your own players say it's an effort thing; it's an effort thing.
