In the event we acquired Dragic, he would start with Kobe. Clarkson could come off the bench or start when Kobe 'rests'. I would get rid of Wesley. That's why I suggested looking for a bargain bin type SF as a place holder. Aminu, Anderson, Butler, or even Barnes.
I said this before, but on a scale of 0-10, we are a 0 at the SF spot, so it makes more sense to spend there first, don't you think? Getting Dragic for the max is the equivalent of spending most of your money on a new set of wheels for your car, when your tires are flat.
I agree with the idea of signing a high impact guard who can play both G positions over signing a 2nd or 3rd tier SF simply because we need a SF more. What I don't agree with is the player. There's no logical reason to give Dragic 20M when you can get Monta for 10M. He can do all of those things Dragic does as far as co-existing with both Kobe and Clarkson, giving us 19-4 with dual initiatirs and a big scoring threat on the floor at all times. And he can do it all without a 20M max salary that prevents us from upgrading other positions. Going with Monta instead of Clarkson leaves us cap space to get an Aaron Afflalo or Gerald Green to upgrade from Wes Johnson and still have room for a good backup big,
I could do Monta, too. Although, given what reports suggests, they are going after Dragic. In the event they don't get him, Monta is a possibility.
Reports surfacing that Chalmers being shopped. Mentioned him earlier. He's be a good fit. Strong perimeter defender decent to good 3 point shooter. If we decide to start Clarkson, he'd be a valuable backup.
I don't like Chalmers... Something about his face. He's got a Ray Allen Face. That's the kind of face that just for whatever reason pisses you off and makes you want to punch him right in his dumb face. But he's a pretty good defender and would be a good presence in the back court.
Doesn't really apply to us, but still... That's a lot of money for Shump and I can't figure out where the Cavs are going to get all this cash from. Shumpert, Love, Thompson, and Mozgov all need to get paid.
Lakers actively pursuing Cousins http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...quire-demarcus-cousins-trade-sacramento-kings
You know, trying to land Rondo and Wade on short-term deals with Kobe coming off the books next year wouldn't be the worst possible offseason. We'd be immediately improved by a good bit.
Yeah... It's not the team we all wanted, but I think if they stayed relatively healthy they'd be that dangerous playoff team no one likes.
I know how you feel. Wade = Nash = health concerns Rondo = Dwight = character concerns Can we please get someone that's healthy with a good personality? Is that too much to ask?
Poor Okafor if he is thrown into NBA defenses surrounded by the spacing he'll get from snipers like a Rondo/Wade/Kobe/Randle lineup.
Trial by fire until next summer or the summer after. It would suck, but he wouldn't be alone. Memphis hasn't been able to get any shooters to help their bigs in YEARS.
