not sure how well lebron gets the cap given the information regarding the derozan recruitment. we'd have been hardcapped by any realistic derozan pick up. but yes, it's clear that both stars felt the full supporting cast was absolutely replaceable. whoops.

you're preaching patience due to injuries but ignoring that last year's results were largely due to the same. to the same player(s). last year's team would have won 5-6 more games already than this one, even with lebron missing time, imo.

i hope you're right; i just see very little evidence that we're likely to put an improved product on the floor. we just have issues on both sides of the ball that are unlikely to go away with the improved health of our stars. it would take injuries to everyone else as bad as they were last year for us to contend, imo.

I disagree..James Davis and Russ aren't washed and if they are healthy in the playoffs, I have no fear of any team

You acknowledge that injuries are causing us problems this year and then don’t account for how injuries affected our teams record and playoffs last year.

It’s not so much the cavalier attitude, it’s just that FO was going for the 3 superstar and the rest kinda mentality, you know like the NETS ..so they got RUSS and they added players around them , I give FO A for trying … I guess Pelicans knew exactly what AD could offer that’s why they didn’t build around him . LAKERS are winners , you couldn’t pay me to question their moves , and NO! I am not buying the narratives of LeBron is telling Jeanie what to do .

I have the exact same sentiments.

The only guys I enjoy watching are Russ (he has grown on me), THT, Melo and Reaves

What I'm saying is that if that entire team came back, I don't think they would be better, than these guys will be by the playoffs. I believe this is a more formidable team. Current struggles included.

We were up 2-1 on PHX then AD got hurt … with fully healthy AD Lakers would have won , and perhaps the title . Oh yeah phx had the best record too.

It’s not about”being a good guy.” It’s about the pieces not fitting now and having a group of guys that can’t Stop anyone.

    Wait.
So the injury excuse can be used to explain way all of the issues with this year’s team, but not last year’s?
You can’t have it both ways.

Give him a chance, let’s see how this season will turn out . He gets really down on himself when he has a bad game. Seems like playing for the LAKERS is like a spotlight for him and he is under pressure to prove doubters wrong . Something he didn’t have to deal with in okc/ Houston and where else did he play ? Lol

You aren't paying attention. Last year's team wasn't any good with just Lebron either. James had to bail those guys out in almost every game whithout AD. When both were out we were a lottery team. All that great defense aside, they couldn't score the ball. They had an entire season plus a playoff round to be used as an example. So...you want to say...well if not due to the injuries...they could have went to the Finals...
OK...flip it around...if guys out meant something last year, why doesn't it mean anything this season? This season is still in December, and there are still guys out, if they are playing the same in May, you would have a point but that is not the case...it's December.

Russel Westbrook is a superior player over every single member of last year's squad not named Davis or James. People want to harp on Russ over losing some role players that weren't getting it done, when they had an entire season to step up? I don't get it.

And if we were both healthy we would have smoked the overrated Suns and perhaps win the title … what I am trying say is Lebron and AD can never escape injuries and have a full healthy season so we can actually weigh out how good this team is or was, last yr .

Vegas had us favored to beat the Suns

They weren't hurt when we won a chip less than a year and a half ago. If that's what you are saying, then you are really arguing against yourself. We already saw what last year's bunch did without them at 100 percent. What's the point of wanting them back, since the big two can never stay healthy at the same time?

yes , of course their first yr together, I didn’t mention that, but you have to admit that yr was kinda special knowing Kobe passed so I think maybe both played thru injuries and got it done.it was also the yr of the bubble, there was no traveling .
