magic deserves credit for lebron, but everything else he did was just downright bad (and then there's the zubac trade)

Magic will never live down snitching against the family. That was pretty douchey.

Except for bringing in LeBron, pretty much everything Magic has tried to do for the Lakers since retiring the first time as a player has blown up in his face. Even his awful tweets have looked bad and been embarrassing.

To be fair though, bring in in LeBron was monumental

Wonder what Indy would want for Myles Turner.

Okay, but was a majority of that due to what Magic did on the court throughout his career? Was a big part of it because of Magic’s business ventures post retirement?
Could it have had anything to do with the fact that the Laker brand is the most storied and well know around the world and just so happened to really be in need of a new Franchise Player?
It definitely had nothing to do with Magic’s ability to scout young talent or team build.

    Westbrick?
I know, we would still have to find a third team since Turner makes $18 mil per and Russ makes $44 mil per. It’s going to be extremely difficult to move him.

westbrook's not going anywhere this season

if they miss the playoffs or lose in the first two rounds, then i wouldn't be surprised to see him dealt at that point

I feel like speculation on LeBron’s motivations is useless and irrelevant for credit. Who knows other than LeBron himself?

All we know is that Magic was at LeBron’s door at 12:01 midnight to try to talk him into joining the Lakers and LeBron agreed.

Magic went there with a mission to get it done, and he got it done, so he gets credit before a bunch of random ideas on why LeBron MIGHT want to sign with us.

yeah, i might be the forum's biggest magic critic (post-playing career), but i feel like he should get some credit for lebron.

I've said it several times and I will say it again, LeBron was the only superstar willing to take the challenge of turning us around at that time. We were literally being treated like jokes by guys (the Lamarcus Aldridge debacle comes to mind).

LeBron said yes when everyone else was saying no and brought us another banner. We had a solid shot at winning last year but our hopes were derailed in unprecedented circumstances. We're playing bad right now, but I still wouldn't want to face us at full strength in the playoffs.

I've got no issues with him honestly.

Our team has always loved star players. Westbrook is here to stay IMO. We gotta find a way to make it work.

he's staying this year for sure, and that's the right thing for a lot of reasons. and i don't think it's impossible that things look much different in 5 months than they do now. or it could be like in 2012 when i felt this way and then it just...kept...getting...worse.

I feel there are a few members who are secretly wishing this season ends up bad just to say "I TOLD YOU SO". So sad

On other news, Boston going for Ben, apparently with Jaylen on the deal

No way I do that if I'm Boston. Ben's not that good. And that team can't score enough if they lose him.

yeah, i've been championing simmons's value, but i don't see why boston would do this.
