This was a bad loss and my eyes are still burning from it. We had so many chances to win it down the stretch but should have never been in that position to begin with. In the end it’s 1 loss and you move on but these guys need to get it together.

I decided to stay away from the forum for a day. It's better that way.

but are we missing "several key defenders"? lebron was out for this one, but not for three of our five awful defensive performances. ariza i'll grant. but are THT, nunn, and ellington key defenders? none has been thus far in their careers.

that thunder team isn't even very good offensively. in fact, prior to last night, they may have actually been THE worst offensive team in the league (they're 27th today).

I suppose the difference now is between adequate/solid defenders and terrible ones.

right, but are any of them going to take melo's minutes? westbrook's? maybe monk's, though he's been our best non-star offensive player.

we just didn't build a good defensive team. and i'm still mad about letting caruso walk, dammit.

You called the Caruso thing from the beginning.

I didn't think we would miss him as much as we do.
Then again, I was depending on Nunn and for THT to make a leap.

Both still may happen...however, the loss of Caruso is glaring right now.

we had caruso and kcp to really make life difficult for top-tier guards, and both guys were good in the team scheme (AC was great). we replaced kcp with baze pretty well. i don't see how nunn replaces caruso. different players. nunn replaces schroder. if you even want that.

I agree...I just mean with respect to negating the impact with what Nunn can potentially bring offensively and still be a net positive on the court.

Right now? This team is made up of some of the worst defenders in the league.

Right. Letting Caruso walk just never made sense and looks even worse now.

I'd prefer to cut Melo's minutes but who knows how Vogel will proceed.

I tend to agree honestly. Melo isn't going to accept a cheerleader role.

No, the board was set straight on that …. “decent” players / role players come and go but don’t move the needle on wins and losses. Are you going to accept the fact or choose to believe your lyin’ eyes?

I gave it 6 hours, probably not as good as a day but Moore’s law or law of large numbers or diminishing returns ….

    :KobeConfused:

….. probably applies in your case, Jinxboy. :D

You were set "straight"? By who?

We haven't seen Nunn or THT, yet? Am I right. Soz my hope is: that will mitigate the loss of a Caruso.

Does he move the needle? With our current personnel with respect to who's available? Yes. Absolutely.

I guess you missed the 6 or 7 pages of heated debate on that in various topic threads. Pretty slick actually how the logic was spun. ;)
